Chapter 1

Having made it to your lecture just in time you sigh as you see a few other students going in. Your professor looks at you as he shakes his head as your friend was motioning to come and sit next to him. Benjamin looks at you with a furrowed brow and teases, "alarm acting up again?"

"Worse, the power went out in the middle of the night and messed everything up!" 

"At least you made it." He shrugged as you nodded tiredly, "but you do seem sleepy." 

Slightly laughing you nod, "I stayed up longer than needed for that assignment."

Shaking his head he sighs playing with his brunette hair, "just wake up earlier and get it done early instead of staying up, Y/n."

"Never." The two of you laughed as your professor started reviewing what will be discussed today. 

"There will be a group project, groups of four no more," around the class you could hear groans or yells of happiness as you glanced at your friend who seemed excited, "make sure to work well together, this will be worth most credits for this year, that's it for today. Get into groups and put your names here." He placed a piece of paper that had multiple blocks of four and a title.

You and your friend decided that you needed to find another pair. However, you started panicking as you saw there were groups of three or four already. "Ben what if we don't find the other two people..." He was about to reassure you, but that was before you hear a voice to your left as you turn to look at the male.

"I'm not in a group, mind if I join you two?" His voice seemed smooth and calming, which made you nod at him and not say anything. How have you not noticed him before?

"Johan, I said for you to join me and my friends you meanie~" A girl wrapped her arm around his as he glanced at her briefly, "if you wanted me all for yourself you should have said so not walk away." She pouted, closing her hazel eyes.

He smiled down at her before gently removing his arm from her grasp, "that makes us a four, does it not?" He smiles at everyone. You felt slightly uncomfortable with his unchanging expression but nod at him. 

"Before that, I think we should introduce ourselves and what our plan is for the project," Benjamin spoke up as you agreed with him.

"Right, I'm Jana Muller!" She excitedly waved at the two of you, her blonde hair waving side to side. 

"Nice to meet you, Jana, I'm Y/n L/n, and this is Benjamin Weber!" You tell her with a smile as you glance at the other blonde who stayed quiet. 

"I'm Johan Liebert, it's lovely to meet you all." He extended his arm for a shake from everyone, Jana grabbing his hand first and shaking his hand as she smiled. Moving towards you he doesn't change his expression as you shake his hand too and smile up at him, he does the same to Benjamin who seemed annoyed. It felt oddly formal for a group project you thought to yourself.

After the four of you discussed what your title was, you all decided to meet up tomorrow in the morning since there weren't any lessons for the week. Walking to the front, you grab the paper and look at it confused as you walk back to your seat with the paper in hand. "Did someone put our names already?"

"Hmm? We were all here so probably the class decided we are together and wrote our names?" Jana suggested as she looked at the paper, not giving it too much thought. "Oh right! We should share our phone numbers!" As the four of you shared your numbers with each other, you start going separate ways before you heard Benjamin run after you.

"Y/n, let's go together, I'll walk you home?" You nodded at him as you walked together talking about random things. "I was meaning to ask you but didn't want to make you worry, but don't you think that Johan guy is weird?"

Usually, you would question him on why he would assume that, but all you did was nod a little, "it's weird we haven't seen him before, especially with how he looks." 

Feeling Ben looking at you, he judged you but ultimately agreed, "true, such a pretty boy would be a big topic for sure." He looked forward as you both walked, "do you like him already or something?"

Looking at him confused you quickly shake your head, "I just met him who do you take me for!?"

He laughed at that, "sorry, sorry I just wanted to tease you~" Being slightly annoyed at him you gently hit his shoulder which only makes him laugh more. After he finished laughing he wiped the corners of his eyes as he opened them, showing a beautiful color of green. "I'm glad," he mumbles quietly.

"What?" You looked at him confused since you didn't hear him.

"I said you're a bully!" He raised his chest as he breathed out heavily, "poor me, having you bully me every day!"

"Okay you are being too dramatic today, you better stop!"

"Nope~" he teased as he stuck his tongue out and started jogging ahead of you.

"Hi!" You slightly ran after him as you both laughed.

Elsewhere a figure had arrived at their current residence. His smile falls as he walks in looking ahead and walking to the kitchen, as he walked past the cold and bare walls. The house was big, but it felt empty. Not giving it any thought he opens one of the cabinets as he makes some coffee. Closing his eyes he doesn't think about anything as he drinks his coffee in the empty house in silence.

Also, I was thinking of making the story in line with the time as it is in the anime/manga, but should I modernize it? I feel like it would make writing easier but then I don't mind going through the hassle that much, and it might be more interesting. No clue on what do to (well there is but yk)-
