Chapter 9

Walking to the hospital with Leon by your side you try to remain calm, that text might be wrong. As you walk, each step displays the anxiety building up, he looks to your side, "calm down."

"No way did you just tell me that." 

He smiled at that but quickly frowned, he should be more careful with this. Holding onto your hand you wince looking down, ready to question him he beats you to it, "everything will be fine, try to stay strong." Looking forward you nod and continue walking. You are now outside of the room and are ready to open it until you hear his voice.

"Y/n," Johan looks to your side, "and Leon, I'm glad you could make it so swiftly." He handed you some tea as you thanked him and looked down at the liquid.

"Is Jana-"

"They said she's in a coma," Johan said frowning sadly, his eyes getting teary, "I feel like its my fault..." 

You reach your hand to touch his face but Leon held your hand tighter, "why should you feel at fault blondie?" Looking at him in shock you see Leon having a blank face, "you don't strike me as someone that close to her." 

Ben saw the three of you as he slightly jogged to everyone, his eyes widening when he heard the detective state that. What shocked him even more was the tears that ran down Johan's face. Grabbing Leon by the shirt he yells, "what the fuck is wrong with you!?" 

Quickly you intervene, "Ben he is also in shock-" as you let go of Leon and try to get a hold of Ben, who quickly pushes you away.

"I don't care how can he say that!" He notices what he has done and goes to apologise until he felt a gentle hand behind him.

"I appreciate you worrying about me, I'm sure he didn't have any malicious intent." Looking down Ben agrees with Johan and looks back at you apologising for pushing you as you quickly say its fine. 

The thick tension in the air was there, Ben and you looking at each other, when he grabs a hold of you, hugging you tightly. Leon looks at the blonde man before him and sees he has stopped whipping his tears. Not only that,  his gut told him something was off. "Y/n you can stay with me today if-"

"They're going to be living with me from now on." Ben turned and looked at Leon with anger and confusion, "haven't they told you? We are dating." The silence has gotten even more louder as he quickly laughed, "jokes jokes, no need to get angry here, but they will be living with me for a while."

"Why the fuck would you live with him-" Ben looked down at you, making you look away.

"We agreed, its mutual." Ben looked at you with a frown but his eyes softened when he saw your face, especially your eyes. You knew how to calm him down without trying. 

A doctor walks out of the room with a frown, "her injuries are severe, however she may recover." His hair was back, showing his face and in the back of your mind you felt like you saw him before, "you wont be able to see her today, not until her family comes. Tomorrow you can come visit her, she wont be responsive but I'd suggest brining things she likes, music or books you could read aloud."  

Johan speaks up after hearing that, "thank you, doctor, please make her recover." 

The doctor smiled at that and nodded, "everything will be fine, believe kids." He looks directly at you, "you are too young to stress so much, she will be taken care of." You all nodded and looked at the door. You want her to be okay, what even happened to her? You felt so confused and why was everything so sudden. 

"What happened to her?" Leon asked looking at the door.

"She tried taking her life from a building." You and Ben looked down at the floor as you feel tears build up as Leon hums. "Not to worry however, she should recover."

The man smiles at you all and wishes everyone a great evening, walking away whistling. The four of you start walking out of the hospital as Ben hugs you again. "I'm sorry for before, I was just sensitive I didn't mean pushing you away."

"What about my shirt?" 

Ben glares at the man, "you deserved that." Leon puts his hands in the air and sighs shaking his head making Ben's frown increase.

Johan quickly joins in, "lets not argue, we are here for Jana." Nodding at Johan he looks at you, "Y/n can I have a moment with you?" Leon opened his mouth but Johan quickly adds, "alone." The other two look at each other, Ben getting annoyed by the second and Leon smirking at Ben. But at the back of his mind, something was off, and he made sure to mentally trail the way the two of you went.

Getting some distance from the others you look at Johan confused, "what happened?"

"I'm sorry." You look at him even more confused, "I... could have prevented her death."

"Johan... its not your fault."

"I know, but I saw she was unwell but instead I pushed her away... I should have been gentler and more perceptive."

Taking his hand in your own you look up at his eye when he looks surprised, "there was no way you could know what she was going to do, none of us where aware she was feeling like that. Don't blame yourself, please don't." 

"Y/n, you are too kind..." He sniffled at he looked at you, "you should be more careful or people will take advantage of you." He muttered. You wanted to ask him what he said but you felt a warm hand on your face, "I really care about you." Your eyes widened as he was looking at you so gently. Hearing a yell from behind you, you see Ben running.

"I cant stand this guy help!" As the detective only walked and smiled. Smiling at that you walk towards them as Johan wants to hold you but restrains himself. 

It will be worth it.
