Chapter 4

It was now 5pm and you had already done a fair amount of research for your part. Stretching slightly you feel something land on your lap and you look down to see Kuro. Gently petting him you smile, before there is a knock at the door.

Kuro was scared away and hid under the bed as you made your way to the front door. Peaking through the eyehole you see a delivery man which made you slightly confused. Opening the door on the chain you ask who it is.

"I have a delivery for Y/n L/n, I believe the address stated here?"

"That would be me yes but I haven't ordered anything." You open the door to see a heavy box in front of you. It may have been something you have forgotten about. You ask him to help you carry it inside.

As the man leaves you collect a boxcutter as Kuro is still hiding under the bed. As you open the box you feel yourself throw up as you run to the sink. In the box was a dead body of your classmate.

After calling the police you still feel sick from what you had seen and hold Kuro close to you. The police officers had blocked off your whole building as you stood outside your door talking to a detective.

"For someone to send such a daring delivery through a genuine mailing system..." the detective was in shock but the CCTV in the building showed how the man who delivered the package was genuine and they had contacted the shipping company.

"Ms L/n, your flat is currently under investigation, however considering the man wasn't killed there it won't take long. May I ask if you knew Mr Williams?"

Gulping down you shiver slightly, "yes, he was a classmate of mine. We go to the same course but aren't close."

"Hmm, someone wanted to harm you with this delivery, do you know who'd wish you both unwell?"

"No..." You feel yourself shake slightly as the detective puts a hand on your shoulder.

"We will catch them don't you worry." Nodding at him he speaks up again, "do you have anywhere to stay? If not there is a program that victims of cr-"

"Y/n!?"

"Don't leave the area, I will need to ask you a few more things Ms." Nodding at him you look towards who called out to you.

"Ben..." As he reaches you he hugs you tightly.

"After seeing your message I ran as quickly as i could. Oh god will you be okay, that must have been scary." Hugging him you start to shiver.

"He... he was cut up Ben... I had never seen anything as terrifying. Why was it for me to see... am I next?"

"They are still figuring out what happened, its very likely someone is pulling a sinister prank. You will be fine I promise." Hugging eachother you feel Kuro peek from your shoulder.

"Y/n?" Turning to your side you see Johan panting. "I came as quickly as I could, I'm glad you weren't here on your own." He glances at Ben smiling.

"Since when did you get so close?"

The two continued speaking as you got a message from Jana. She said she'd hope everything was okay and that her place was free if you wanted to stay over. You thank her and smile slightly at the phone.

"Who did you text?" Johan asked.

"Jana, she's actually really nice."

Walking up to you he wraps his arms around you, "it will be okay Y/n."

"Ms Y/n can you come here for a moment!" Letting go off Johan you walk into your flat "please come closer."

"D-detective I'm scared, I don't want to see the body." You hug Kuro as you feel a comforting hand on your shoulder peeking at who it was, it was Johan with Benjamin mouthing the words it will be okay. Nodding at them you go closer but look away.

"I wouldn't make you look at the body, we have found a letter. It's bloody but do you recognise this handwriting?" Peeking at the letter you shake your head no. "Ms Y/n I won't keep you any longer. For now do you have anywhere to go?"

Nodding at him you quietly thank him as you leave the flat. Still holding Kuro tightly you feel yourself wanting to cry.

"Y/n it's not your fault don't cry." Ben patted your back gently.

"Are you going to go to Jana's?" Johan spoke up.

"Mhm, I was thinking about a hotel but I don't won't to be on my own." Nodding his head in understandment he asks another question.

"Will you be fine?"

"I think Jana would be great comfort." You started shaking again as you imagined the body, the blood, the cut up body parts. Johan hugs you and looks into your eyes.

"I promise everything will be okay Y/n." Nodding at him you feel like you'll start to cry again but he gently whispers comforting words which made you feel sleepy with how his voice was. Smiling at you he speaks up, trying to lighten the mood up, "Kuro looks warm there."

"Haha," you laugh tiredly looking at the kitten who was asleep in your shirt, "he really does."

After making it to Jana's place she hugged you tightly and asked many questions concerning your health. "I know you say you are fine but I'll still get some medicine, do you think you'll be able to fall asleep?" Shaking your head she smiles sadly a little, "no worries then, let's watch some comedy films and eat popcorn!"

"Thank you Jana, you are amazing."

Patting your shoulder for comfort she speaks again, "of course, how could I not be amazing when you are this amazing!" Laughing together she makes her way to the kitchen as you lay on the sofa, Kuro cuddled to your side.

After watching a few movies you notice how it's already really late. "Should we go to sleep?"

"Hmm? Yeah... only if you feel comfortable or able to." You could tell she was tired and you told her to call it a night. "That's alright then, do you want to sleep here or upstairs in my bed."

"Don't worry I can sleep here, thank you for everything Jana." You hug her tightly as she hugs you back.

"Don't worry about it! Also I'll go grab a few things to make it easier for you to sleep."

After saying goodnight to eachother you turn off the lights. Laying in the dark you felt yourself gulp. You felt scared, closing your eyes you imagine the body and shake again. The more you tried not to think about it the more details your remember. His eyes were wide open, his cut off arm above his head...

You felt yourself crying but you didn't want to wake Jana up. Going to your phone you dial his number.

"Hello?"

"J-johan..." You cry as you hear silence on the other side before he speaks up.

"What happened Y/n?"

"I... I'm scared, and I wanted to hear your voice... I'm sorry its just that you make me feel so safe and warm." You weren't thinking straight and just blurted that out.

On the other end Johan was shocked, but his shock turned into a smirk, sweetly coating his words, "it's okay Y/n, everything will be okay. You didn't do anything bad, and what happened was unfair but you are strong and can get through this."

He could hear you crying having gone down, "Johan, can... can you talk me to sleep, I know it's weird but whenever I close my eyes I just see... him."

Smiling happily he nods, "of course, anything to make you feel better Y/n." And he starts speaking some stories, shortly after he hears your end go silent as he smiles at the phone, gently kissing the screen before saying goodnight.
