Erica sat at the booth as she waited for me to get her milkshake and ice cream. It seems like she thinks more of me as a slave than a sister. Can't believe I'm listening to orders from a 10 year old. I pulled out my purse to get the right amount of money as I rang the bell on the counter.
"Helloo? Anyone there?" I asked waving my hands around. I continued ringing the bell until someone came.
"What the he-" Said a guy rushing out of the door. He paused to look at me. When he snapped out of his trance, he attempted to fix his hat.
"Oh.. um... Ahoy?" He tried greeting me with his arm on the counter. A girl in the back snickered as he gave me a smirk that said, 'I have no game.' I gave him a look of confusion as the snickering behind him grew.
"Don't mind her, she has a few screws loose. But what can I do for you?" He asked with a wink. He then place his hand on mine.
"Okay.. One vanilla milkshake, one chocolate, and a vanilla ice cream, extra whipped cream, and extra sprinkles please." I replied with a smile on my face. He stared at me for a while, which annoyed me. I rung the bell a few more times while waving my free hand.
"Shit.. Sorry about that. It's just.. You're like, really pretty." He said with a chuckle.
"Thank you, but I'm like, really hungry."
"Oh.. What was your order?" He took out a notepad, urging me to repeat what I said. I sighed, and repeated it with a frown on my face.
After scrambling to get my order done, I finally got the milkshakes and ice cream for Erica. I payed my amount and went to sit down at the booth she was at. She had her elbow on the table while she rested her head in her palm. When I set down the desserts, her face lit up in delight.
"About time. Next time, don't flirt with the employees. Maybe then you'll be faster." She took a sip of her milkshake. I rolled my eyes as I took a sip of mine.
"He was flirting with me.." I replied. "I kinda liked it, not gonna lie." I muttered to myself. She cocked her eyebrow as she licked her ice cream. I heard footsteps behind me as I continued drinking my shake. The employee from before took a seat across me and Erica.
"Hey, um. Sorry to bother you. I just wanna introduce myself, properly this time." He rubbed the nape of his neck while he spoke.
"I'm Steve Harrington, and I scoop ice cream for a living." He said with a more sincere smile. I smiled back.
"I'm Y/n Sinclair, and I buy ice scream for my little sister on a daily basis." Erica looked between the two of us as she sipped on her drink. She shook her head as we continued staring at on another.
"Just give your numbers to each other already, you make me wanna barf." She said while pretending to gag. I hit her on the head in a playful manner as I turned towards Steve.
"Did you.. Maybe wanna hangout sometime? You don't have to if you don't want to.." He rubbed his knuckles. I nodded with my hand still on Erica's head. We talked about random stuff as Erica and I finished our milkshakes.
"Talk to each other on your own time, I got places to be." Erica groaned as she pulled me out of the booth. Steve looked at me with a love struck gaze in his eyes while I gave into her irritation.
"I'll be back tomorrow, Harrington." I said as I waved towards him while Erica continued pulling me out of the ice cream place. He waved back as he had a goofy smile on his face. He fist-pumped as he turned towards the snickering girl from earlier.
She had a board with one side saying, 'You Suck' and 'You Rule'. She sighed as she drew a tally mark under 'You Rule'.
