With Halloween just around the corner, I decided to wear my costume to school. Usually, I'm not allowed to take my costume to school. Mama doesn't want it to be ruined by the other kids. This year, I begged my mom for a full month so I could bring it to school. As I neared the school, I began to spot some of my classmates. But they didn't have a costume on. 

'Oh well, probably just forgot to bring it.' 

I shrugged it off and continued walking. The swaying from my sword on my backpack was getting annoying, so I just held it in my hand. While getting closer to the school, it seemed like more and more people forgot their costumes. 

But I did notice four boys by the bike area with Ghostbuster costumes. They seemed to be arguing about something before they turned their eyes toward me. I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion as I walked past them.

"Wait!" One of them yelled to me. Turning on my heel with an annoyed expression, I cocked my head to the side as they jogged up to me. Their costumes had the name tags and everything. One was Stantz, another was Venkman, the other was Egon, and the last one was.. Venkman? Why are there two Venkmans?

"Your, uh, costume is really nice. It's like that one pirate movie I watched!" One of the Venkmans exclaimed. The other Venkman rolled his eyes at him. 

"I'm Mike by the way, and that's Dustin, Will, and Lucas." The person I now knew as Mike said as he pointed at his companions.

"I'm Y/n. Nice to meet you, I guess."

"Guys? I think we're the only ones with costumes.." Dustin(?) said as he looked around. As people walked by us, they giggled to themselves while looking at us. 

"The one time I wear a costume.." I muttered to myself. Despite feeling embarrassed, we walked into the school with our heads down. The mass majority of the school stared at us with confusion, and/or amusement.

"When did people stop wearing costumes to school?" One of the boys said as we trekked through the hallway. Another one shrugged as Mike kept trying to make conversation.

"Soo, who's your favorite Ghostbuster?" He asked with a smile on his face. I thought to myself for a while before answering.

"Winston." He and Lucas(?) gasped in disbelief while Will's eyes widened. Lucas then went on a rant about why Winston isn't the best Ghostbuster. That must've been why there were two Venkmans.

"Personally, I think you should have been Winston." I pointed at him with my cardboard sword. I bent a little at the sudden contact as Lucas frowned.

"Because I'm black?" He crossed his arms. I nodded with a grin on my face as I retracted my sword. Dustin stifled a giggle as Mike continued smiling at me. Kinda creepy.

"Maybe when we go trick or treating, you can be Winston." He suggested. I cocked my eyebrow as I looked at my arm.

"Why? Because I'm black, right?" I placed my hands on my hips. Mike tried to stutter out an apology, but Lucas interrupted him.

"See how condescending that sounds? He wanted me to Winston cause I'm black." He pointed at Mike. "And she's not going trick or treating with us. We already have Max."

"Max isn't in the party, I prefer her to be a new member to the party." 

"So you can bring your girlfriend Elev- I mean, Eleanor into the party, but we cant bring Max?" 

"Eleanor, is not my girlfriend." This Eleanor girl peaked my interest.

"Who's Eleanor?" I asked them.

"She was this girl that had superpowers!" Will exclaimed as the bell rung. The rest of them slowly turned towards him as he instantly put his hand on his mouth.

I stared at all of them with a blank expression before leaving to go to my first class. I shook my head as Mike yelled for me to come back. At least their weirdness would take all the attention off of me and my costume.
