Chapter Twelve: His Dad did what?

Nicky's Point of View:

"There is my girl! Kara, meet Nicky or as I call her Star because she is my Star." Luke beams as he opens the door to Kara's apartment.

"Good to see you too Babe." I beam back at. Babe? I have never called him Babe before. But we are dating, but still, I have  never said that to him before meeting his beautiful sister.

"Hi, I am Kara. Nice to meet you, Nicky." Kara smiles and reaches out her hand. I walk into the apartment

and shake her hand.

She is beautiful. She looks just like Luke with her dark brown hair. Her hair is curly, but Luke's is straight. She's short like me and very curvy. She has different eyes from Luke, she had green eyes, which must be from their parents. I doubt I will ever meet his mother.

"Nice to meet you too." I smile back at her.

"Come, sit." Kara smiles as she points to the couch and love seat. I sit down on the couch, and Luke sits beside me. We sit so close together his thighs are right beside mine. He holds out his hand on my leg, and I grab his hand and hold it. We have been doing a lot of hand holding lately, and I love it.

Kara sits down on the love seat across from us.

"Well, Nicky, you have to tell me about you! I have to know more about the girl my brother loves." Kara laughs. Love? The L-word? I mean, we have never said it to each other. I mean we have only been dating a few weeks. Don't get me wrong, I am crazy about him. I know I am falling for him. I guess that means, I'm in love?

I laugh and say: "Luke has probably already told you, but I am a high school English teacher. I love reading and writing."

"That's amazing, I have always enjoyed reading," Kara adds.

"You have?" I ask her.

"Yes, I love to read any romance or fantasy novel. Or even better-"

"A fantasy romance novel!" I say at the same time as her and we both laugh.

"Please tell me you have read A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas?" I ask her.

"Yes!" She cheers, and we both laugh.

"Who is your favorite bat boy?" I ask her (the bat boys are Cassian, Rhys and Azriel).

"Cassian!" She cheers, and I laugh and say: "Me too!"

"Wow, my two best girls getting along." Luke smiles at us and kisses me on top of my head. I lay back and put my head on his chest. He lets go of my hand and puts his arm around me, hugging me as I lay on his chest.

Kara and I discuss book theories for a while, while Luke gets dinner on the table.

"Dinner's ready." Luke calls. Kara and I jump up from our seats and sit at her kitchen table. I take a seat across from Luke, and Kara sits at the end of the table.

I sit down at the table and see Luke has made us my favorite: fettuccine alfredo. He even got out my favorite drink: Dr. Pepper. He put out white and red wine.

"Let's eat." Luke smiles as we all start getting out drinks and food.

I decide to drink white wine together and get a lot of fettuccine alfredo on my plate.

"So Nicky and Luke, when is the wedding?" Kara asks us. Luke and I burst out laughing hard. Luke and I both laugh and can't stop smiling at each other. I look at his eyes and, they are beaming back at me. I feel my cheeks glowing with happiness.
