You hadn't had a chance to look in a mirror, not that you really wanted to, but by the look on Eddie's face, you knew it was bad.
"I'm fine." You mumbled, despite knowing your breathing was too rapid and that you were in fact, not fine. "I'm fine. I'm fine."
"You're not. Not even close, fuck!" Eddie shouted, clearly starting to panic. "This was your dad, right? I saw him high tail it out the park earlier. Jesus Christ, sit down, you look like you're about to pass out."
Eddie looked a lot more worried when you didn't try to fight him on that. He grabbed your arm and gently helped you sit down on the edge of the road, but you couldn't stop yourself from hissing in pain as you grabbed your ribs again.
"What is it? Hey, what hurts?"
It took you a minute to get your breathing under semi-control before you could actually speak.
"Broken ribs." You said, your voice barely above a whisper as you sucked in a sharp breath with a wince.
"Jesus. Fuck. You need a hospital."
You shook your head because it hurt too much to verbally answer causing Eddie to panic even more as he knelt in front of you.
"I can drive you to the hospital, right now." He insisted, but again you shook your head.
"Just... just need a minute." You wheezed causing Eddie to groan softly to himself in frustration before he pulled out a handkerchief from his back pocket.
"At least let me help with your blood nose?" He said, holding it up and you nodded before he lent forward and gently started to wipe the blood from under your nose and chin before he held it to your nose that was still flowing fairly heavily.
Eddie didn't ask any more questions. He just knelt beside you and held your nose. His entire body was shaking though, and you knew he was freaking out on the inside, despite trying not to show it.
It was hard to deal with something like this. It was hard dealing with Billy during the aftermath of Neil's violence even though you were used to it, Eddie wasn't. But he was keeping his cool, despite clearly panicking.
Eventually, your nose stopped bleeding and he lowered the now bloodied handkerchief as he eyed you worriedly.
"Please let me take you to the hospital." He said again.
You opened your mouth to answer but didn't get a chance to say anything before a familiar looking Beemer came speeding through the Trailer Park. It sped straight past the two of you before it's brake lights turned on and it came to an abrupt halt in the middle of the road.
A second later, Steve was practically falling out the car in his haste to get out before he sprinted across the road.
"How bad is it?" He questioned, dropping to his knees in front of you.
Your breathing was still rapid, and you must have taken a little too long to respond because Eddie quickly answered for you.
"She said she has broken ribs."
Steve's head snapped in Eddie's direction like he had only just noticed the other man's presence before he looked back at you. Those big brown eyes filled with so much sadness and anger.
"I'm gonna fucking kill your father!" Steve yelled, gritting his teeth as he glanced down the street to your trailer. "Is Max safe?"
You nodded. Max was safe, Neil had left for the time being. Max was probably worrying, but she was safe and that was all that mattered.
"Can I see?" Steve asked, motioning towards your ribs and you nodded.
Carefully, Steve unzipped your leather jacket and gently lifted your shirt underneath before he let out a small gasp.
