*2 days later*
Pain.
That was the first thing you registered when you started to wake up. Pain. Pain and the strong scent of disinfectant.
You had been in enough hospitals over the years to know what they smelt like and this was that. There was a faint beeping in the background and for a brief second, you wondered what Neil had done that landed you in hospital, but then it all came flooding back.
The Upside Down.
Vecna.
Jason with a gun.
You were shot. Holy shit, you were shot and now in a hospital.
Slowly, you blinked your eyes open to find yourself staring up at a white ceiling. The pain in your stomach was starting to get worse as you looked around to find an IV drip in your arm and thick bandages wrapped around the upper part of the same arm.
Right. The demo-bats.
Guess Eddie would be happy that you finally got the cuts stitched up then.
You glanced around the room, surprised to find yourself in your own hospital room and not in some kind of shared unit because you sure as shit couldn't afford any of this. But, that was a problem for later.
"Oh, you're awake."
You flinched at the unexpected voice, the sharp movement sending spikes of pain through the gunshot wound.
There was a nurse standing in the doorway holding a clipboard to her chest as she stared at you sceptically. What was her problem?
"Where-where am I?" You asked, your voice coming out rougher than you've ever heard it.
"Hospital. Your heart stopped twice in the ambulance on the way here. You're lucky to be alive."
You nodded slowly trying to process that because, shit. That was bad.
If you were being honest, you were surprised that you were actually alive and breathing. Your memories after getting shot were fuzzy, but you remembered how much blood there had been.
There was so much blood. Steve's hands were covered with it. Eddie's bandana soaked within seconds. How were you alive?
You must have zoned out for a few minutes because now the nurse was gone and the new Chief of Police was standing in the room.
"What... what's going on?" You hesitantly asked, trying to sit up, but you couldn't move your arm. "What the..."
Your wrist was handcuffed to the the rail of the hospital bed. You were handcuffed. Why the fuck were you handcuffed?
Eddie.
You were wanted for being an accomplice to murder. Eddie was wanted for murder.
Shit.
"Where's Eddie?" You questioned, glaring at the cop.
"Mr. Munson is currently in our custody while we work this case. I have taken all your friends statements with what happened, which is why I'm here. I need you to tell me everything you know." The new Chief explained.
You just stared at him blankly.
What had the others told the police? You needed to know what they were saying so you didn't say something different. Your stories had to match otherwise you and Eddie were screwed.
"First, I need you to tell me where you were the night Chrissy Cunningham died."
Okay, that question you could answer.
