Chapter Seventeen

Finally I found an apartment which I am going to see today in the lunchtime. I have been living in that presidential suite for almost four days and it is time to move out from there.

    People were giving me side eyes and whispering things about me. I didn't mind it first but now it's getting to me. I think it's about time, I should move out otherwise I will loose my s**t.

    It was the lunch time so I got ready to go I have almost one and half hour or something and that's sufficient for me to go and come back. I got out of the hotel and took a cab.

     I showed the address to the cab driver and he dropped me at the address. The place was looking decent from outside but it was kind of empty. I just let it go maybe they are developing more so that must be the reason.

     I entered the building and it gave me an eerie feeling because the building was also empty from inside. I can't see any guard or any other employee. That made me wanting to go back as it must be wrong address given by the website or I got scammed.

     But as I go towards the exit I see a guy the same guy I saw at the hotel giving me those creepy stares and smile. This is not good why is he here, how do he know I will be here too, was he following me.

"Miss Rose nice to meet you"he said in his creepy voice.

"Who are you and how do you know my name" I asked getting a little afraid with this situation.

"I am the owner of this building Miss and we talked through emails, I suppose you are here to see the apartment" he said giving me that sinister smile.

"You are the owner, so what were you doing at my workplace, at hotel la rosé" I asked.

"Mam you are mistaken, I have never been at that place" he said.

     I couldn't believe that, I saw him with my own eyes, he is the same men. Could I be wrong but I do remember his creepy face. Should I believe what he says.

"Miss Rose" he called me and I came back to my senses.
"Miss Rose do you want to see the apartment" he said.

     I don't know what to do now, I am not getting a good feeling about this but I also want to get a new apartment as soon as possible. I can see him looking at me curiously, waiting for my answer.

     I just gave into my urgency of needing a new place and decided to see the apartment.

"Yes I would like to see the apartment" I said and he smiled widely.

"Please, this way the lift aren't working well so we will go with stairs" he said showing me the way to stairs.

     I followed him through the stairs to the second floor. There were two apartments opposite each other and he unlocked the door of one of them.
He opened it for me to get inside first and I was a little hesitant but still got inside.

     The apartment was decent looking, it was all white and empty. I could see the open kitchen and a door, which may be the only room. I could see a balcony too.

     I was looking at the apartment when I heard a sound it was the sound of the door closing and getting locked. That made me frightened.

     I turned around to see that men walking towards me with that creepy smile again. I just don't know why he locked the doors but I have put myself in danger by coming with this creepy guy.

"So Miss Rose, you see I am not the one you were looking for but you are the one we were looking for" he said in creepiest possible way.

"Wh--at are you talking about and who are you" I said.

"I am someone you shouldn't believed at first place but I could see your desperation and that worked in my favour"he said pointing out my stupidity.

"Wh--y a--re you doing this" I asked.

"Oh why am I doing this because someone should have done it before me but he didn't so I have to come here to complete his unfinished job" he said.

"What unfinished job" I asked.

"To kill you" he said and that made me scared as hell. Someone wants me dead but who and why. What harm did I do to anyone.

     He takes out a knife from his back and I started panicking. I was scared for my life and no one is here to save me. I will die a worst death.

"Lo--ok please don't do this, I didn't do any harm to anyone, why do you want to kill me" I cried out.

     He started walking towards me and said "Actually you weren't supposed to exist so I am just making it right"he said.

     I started moving back as he was approaching towards me, I was frightened feeling so helpless. And then I fell on my butt, he was getting closer with that knife.

     And just then, I don't know what came over me but as he came more closer I kicked him in his stomach with full force.

     He fell down with the knife falling out of his hand to other side. I just took advantage of this situation and ran towards the door. I unlocked it and ran for my life.
