Chapter Eleven

Aria

Never in my life have I thought about this day. I am a normal girl with a normal life and no one out there to look out for me. I get into trouble on daily basis but they are minor things not like this where someone accused me of selling illegal information for my own benefit.
  
    I have only seen criminal stuff in movies and series but never in real life. I never even lied to anyone before to save my life. I thought this will be forgotten and I will go on without any harm but now this looks like I have made a huge mistake.

    I was waiting in his living room, the same one I admired a few days before but now nothing makes me admirable here anymore. I just want to get out of this penthouse to my shabby apartment which is more secure place for me.

    I don't know who he is what kind of illegal things he do but one thing is sure he isn't a normal boss. I heard his men call him capo, I don't know the meaning but I know it's Italian that means he is an Italian but he doesn't look much.

    I also heard his men telling him that I was not the one who sold that info, and that was a relief for me. I may hope he forgive me for my innocent lie, but what if he fire me from this job. Oh no! How will I pay my bills, I have to pay the rent also otherwise I won't have that shabby place too.

    As I was thinking all these scenarios, I heard the door getting unlocked. That's it this is the time which will decide my future either I get fired or something worse.

    He came to the living room where I was standing, I couldn't able to sit because I wasn't comfortable being here. He sat on one of the sofa, I was just looking down, scared about the outcome of this.

"You can sit Miss Rose" he told me in his commanding voice and I couldn't able to refuse so I just sat on one of the sofa exactly opposite to him.

    He was silent for a minute or two which was making me more nervous, I want this to end as soon as possible.

"So Miss Rose now you know what I deal with, you may have an idea that I am not a normal boss, as you may have expected". He said

   After a pause he spoke again "So miss rose I mean to say that if there is something that you are still hiding or haven't told me, you may say it right now".

    I was just sitting there making my inner self calm because in the situation like this I may speak nonsense and will get myself in more trouble them I am already in.

"I am not hiding anything sir, I was completely honest this time and I am really sorry about the lie, I was just scared at that time." I said.

"Ok I accept you apology" he said and I got a little happy inside, I may be free now but he spoke again " but you know something you shouldn't know, which may become a problem for me in future".

    And that's it this is my last day on this earth, now he will just kill me and no one will know. Oh no! I don't want to die this early, I want to live more, I want to see the world, I never even go anywhere outside New York, I want to explore, fall in love, have kids.

 "Miss rose" I heard as I was rambling in my mind. "Miss Rose are you listening" he said getting a little annoyed by my lack of concentration.

"Yes sir, yes I am listening" I said coming back to the reality.

"I said you will not talk about any of this to anyone, and never think about going to police at all, it would not be much good for you" he said threatening me.

"Y--e-s sir" I said a little scared by his threat.

"You may go for now but remember I have my eyes on you Miss Rose and next time we may won't talk, do you get it". He said with a final warning.
