Chapter Twenty

I lied to her, I don't know why but I don't want her to know the truth which is that I care about her and I want to protect her.

   I do need her to get to the truth behind all these incidents and how they are all connected. I got to know who is behind all of this but still don't know why he is doing this all.

   I got to know about her father and he is someone I hate the most in this world. He killed someone very close to me.

   In our business we make many enemies that I can't even count but the one I hate the most is Antonio Ricci. He is the men who killed my mother and I wanted him dead for almost two decades.

   We have been clashed before and we always won but his people are also not that weak so we couldn't able to get to him. Now when I got to know Miss Rose is his daughter, first I was shocked how could it be possible.

   In our rivalry I never heard about any close family of him. He didn't even had a wife so how did he got a daughter. And also he wants her dead that only shows that he is a heartless bastard.

   But I couldn't able to get to the reason behind him killing his own daughter. She doesn't even know that her only family, who is her father wants to kill her. She will be devastated by this news.

   I decided for the time being I won't tell her about this. I don't think she has any of her father's trait, she is just a innocent women wanting to live her life. She doesn't deserve a father like him in her life.

   That is the reason I wanted to protect her. I don't hate her because we can't choose our parents so it is not her fault that bastard is her father.

    In my whole life I only cared for my own people but I don't know how I started caring for a stranger. I become a different person in front of her. I am not the capo of the biggest mafia in the world, but just Ricardo when I am with her.

    I never have shown my this side to anyone in my life other then when I was with my mom 20 years ago. She was the ray of light in our world of darkness.

   She was a beautiful women, never left the smile on her face even the day she died. She always told me to be the men people respect and be kind to everyone. Yes she wanted a mafia leader to be kind, that's almost impossible.

   But I try to make her wishes come true. I tried to be kind to the people around me and to help them in my own way. In our business we normally do only illegal businesses and killing. But I wanted it to be not only that so I started the legal business with giving back to the people.

    We contribute all the money that we get from this legal business to the charities and to people in need. This is how I can make my mother happy in heaven too.

    Now seeing Miss Rose, with that same innocence, I want her to be far away from this mafia world. But having a father like Antonio just made it impossible. She just have to survive until I kill him myself.

    I was in my room thinking about all of this and that's when I got a call from Enzo. He called me to inform about that men who tried to kill Miss Rose. I told him to investigate about him.

    I got to know that he was one of Antonio's men and was given the job to kill Miss Rose. I didn't kill him I just put a bullet in his leg because I wanted information from him.

   He didn't open his mouth yet just told us about why he came here for. I told Enzo to keep investigating and to  torture him more so that we can get some more clues.

    I want to get to the bottom of these attacks so I can protect Miss Rose from her own father.
