"Fuck fuck fuck" Gulnaz looked around the mess she woke up into. All the papers scattered on the bed, some lying on the  floor while some lying on her study table. Her laptop opened with all the coffee tetra packs she drank the night before.

"Ugh!" Out of frustration she threw those tetra packs across the room, angry at them for not working in her system.

"I'm gonna fail this, I'm gonna fail this, I'm gonna fucking fail this!" She kept mumbling as trying to assemble her papers which are scattered everywhere

She looked up on the clock to see the time, 8:59am, and panicked even more. She swore to not sleep the night before and pull an all nighter to complete her research paper but even after having 5 packs of caffeine, she still slept through and now all she's left is with anxiety.

"Oh god, please help me this time I swear I won't say anything bad about you ever, I promise!" She prayed. At the moment she'll believe in anything or anyone despite her being a nihilistic.

Only 30 minutes left to reach college and for her submission, if she doesn't submit on time- she will have to repeat the whole year. The professors already didn't like her for her opinionated thoughts and lazy work, low chance for them to cooperate if she turned in late.

She took few long breaths to calm herself down so she can actually think with her mind.  Looking at the time again it was 9:06am, she was going to be late anyways so might as well give the research paper in a better condition.

After putting on a jeans and a normal t-shirt, she took the folder and ran downstairs.

"Mom I'm going!" She yelled to make her mom aware while putting on shoes hurriedly.

Coming from kitchen with hands swiping on the apron her mother frowned, "at least eat something. You shouldn't step out of house with an empty stomach"

"Mummy I'm late, I'll eat in college"

Her mother, jaspreet kaur held gulnaz's hand and tried to move her inside to the dining table,

"Look at how weak you've become, you will not go before eating your breakfast" she sternly said

"Mom, I really can't today. I promise I'll eat from tomorrow,I swear" she pleaded

If gulnaz wanted she could've just left without any explanation but she was not taught to leave the house after disrespecting her mother. "Mom I'm already late I need to get going"

"Naz, don't make me repeat myself" her mother  gathered plate from kitchen and put two parathas with achaar.

"Either always roaming around here and there or completing your assignment, you never get time to eat healthy. I'm not going to admit you in a hospital next time." Jaspreet said sourly, remembering the time when she found her daughter fainted in the bedroom

"Mom It won't happen —" before Gulnaz could complete her sentence she was cut off,

"—your mother's right. You should've woken up early instead. Now sit and eat" Gulnaz attention was all on her father who was reading newspaper in one hand and sipping tea with another hand.

Typical Indian fathers in morning

"Yes I know but I really need to go, I have my submission" Gulnaz tried to plead

"Naz,"  he folded the newspaper neatly and the tea cup down once he finished as he sat upright to continue, "you need to learn a lot in life. This is not how you manage things, you need to learn time management. I'm aware of your submission today and I'm also aware of the fact that you're very late and now you won't be able to get to college on time. I know how important this submission is but you still woke up late because of your laziness to do all work a night before. If you go now or 10 minutes later either way you'll be late, it's better to not leave with an empty stomach"
