Natalia's POV

Why of all places is my frickin' calculus professor here, right in my face. I was always told that New York city was in fact a huge city, yet I constantly run into the same person! I contemplate whether or not I should answer, but the longer I stare at him, the more uncomfortable it gets. Before opening his mouth, he looks in every direction possible so nobody hears the words he's about to say, which in my opinion is what he always does. He lowers himself to my level, making it more obvious on our height difference. "Look, I thought we have already discussed you shouldn't be here. Have I not made myself any clearer?" He said in a hushed tone. He may have been whispering, but his words were screaming in my face so I chose to say silent out of respect, who knows what words would come out of my mouth. His face grew in a distinct frustration, either because I didn't say anything or because I just stared blankly at him. "Ms. Suarez, this conversation would be an actual conversation if you spoke. I don't recall you being in 1st grade."

"I-" Before continuing what I was about to say, I was cut off from a different voice. "Natalia Suarez, I can now meet with you about your job application." Breaking eye contact with Mr. Valentino, I look over and realized another man was standing there, which I highly doubt Mr. Valentino failed to notice too. He looked like another version of Mr. Valentino, but much nicer. "Goddamn it." I hear my professor whisper under his breath. Before I could make any sudden movement, I see Mr. Valentino walk away from me and over to the man who made quite an appearance. How did they know each other? Mr. Valentino signaled the man to exist the lounge with him. Ugh. I hate this so much, I shouldn't have listened to Julie about this, why can't I just trust my gut, ever.

5 minutes which seem like hours pass by, I wish I knew what was going on. While I wait patiently, my mind decides to run through memories from the last time I was here. Mr. Valentino saved me from that creepy guy, but again he knew him too. I find it quite odd for a teacher to have such a big social circle, but on the other hand, it's not any of my business. To my surprise, I heard footsteps coming in my direction. Thankfully Mr. Valentino didn't come back with the other guy he seemed to know, I honestly didn't need any lectures in front of people I don't know.

"Sorry about that, just had quick business matters to discuss. If you come with me I'd like to interview you in my office". I give him a quick smile and followed him into his office, which we enter in less than a minute. The office gave off a rustic feel, an entirely different aesthetic from the club. On the left side of the room, there was a big alcohol cabinet. It contained all types of drinks, from wines, whisky, rum, to tequila. Which is strange since people shouldn't drink on the job? Anyway, not my life to judge. On the right side of the room, there was a giant book shelf, completely filled to the row.

"Here, take a seat." The gentleman said, while pulling out the chair out from his office space. "Thank you for taking the time to view my resume, Mr...?"

"Just call me Angelo dear. So, what brings you here to find a job?"

Great, I don't know what to tell him. God, I don't quite know why I'm here either. "I came by the other night and I fell in love with the place, even the staff!" Lies. "I figured it wouldn't hurt to come by to see if you guys were hiring servers?" Angelo fixed his posture from his chair and crossed his hands together in front of the desk, leaning in. "Ah, I see. How old are you? You seem rather young." A sweat broke in me, and once again the nerves were pooling at the pit of my stomach. "Nineteen." I said in almost a whisper. Oh god, why is this stupid question making me feel like this, he probably gets a lot of 19 year old's in here, right?

"Perfect! You're hired."

My eyebrows jumped, shock splattered on my face. "Oh my god, thank you very much." Angelo stood from where he was sitting and shook my hand. After exchanging hand shakes, he led me to the door, before I walked out he added "Since you're just starting out, it will be minimum wage, here at this club promotions are easy to get with the right attitude and dedication."
