"Mom, Kyle tells me that you took Miles to Disneyland for his 6th birthday?!" Kyndall, Y/N and Dave's one and only daughter walked into the lounge upstairs where her mother had been sitting.
"What?" Y/N looked up from her phone.
"I mean, who throws a 6th birthday party anyway?" Kyndall went on as Kyle, her second oldest brother walked in soon after.
"We did not take him to Disneyland for his birthday, why don't I remember that?" Y/N pulled a face.
"Apparently your parents had nothing better to do for Miles. Y'all couldn't go to Chucky Cheese?" Kyle let out a small laugh, making his mother shove him off.
"Are y'all seriously ganging up on me?" Y/N exchanged looks between her children as she rested her head on her hand.
"Miles isn't here to speak for himself, so yes." Kyndall replied.
Y/N and Dave had been together for 20+ years and had three beautiful and outspoken kids. Their oldest son Miles was about to be 23 soon, their second son Kyle was 18 and Kyndall, their only daughter was 15. They were preparing to go out for a family dinner and Miles was going to meet them there.
"I know you guys aren't acting like you weren't spoiled rotten for all your birthdays."
"Uhm, we didn't get Disneyland, did we Kyle?" Kyndall pettily, yet playfully said. You could say she started most of the arguments in the family.
"Nope." He said, popping the 'p'.
"Aight let me call y'all daddy..." Y/N held her finger up in the air as she dialled for her husband.
"Babe?"
"I'm 10 minutes away baby, I hope you guys are ready."
"Never mind that. I have your kids with me in the room and they're ganging up on me." Y/N complained to her husband as usual, earning a few laughs from her kids.
"My kids? I though we agreed they were your kids when they did that, what are they saying?" Dave asked with a chuckle.
Y/N put him on speaker, "Did we take Miles to Disneyland for his 6th birthday?"
"I know Kyle's not complaining because he was practically there too, that boy was 1." Dave said as he and Y/N agreed.
"I know he ain't siding with his wife..." Kyndall mumbled.
"Exactly! Alright babe, let me not disturb you, don't want you driving into curbs now. I love you."
Dave smacked his teeth, "Man, that's your thing. I love you too bubs."

Dave managed to get home and freshen up and they finally made to dinner. As usual, Kyle had his arm over his mother's shoulders while the whole family indulged in small talk, and Kyndall was probably arguing with her father about something else when Miles snuck up behind them soon after.
"Hey family!" He said as everyone excitedly greeted him. They hadn't seen him in a while since he moved into his new apartment. Dave pulled a face at the fact that his son was almost towering over him.
They got a table and settled down. Going out for a family dinner was something they tried to do at least once a week, even if it wasn't eating out, so now they were just catching up with laughter, teasing and arguing present, of course.
"Oh yeah, before I forget Miles, did you go to Disneyland for your 6th birthday?" Kyndall started again, making her parents chuckle.
"Like I remember anything from that long ago sis?" He laughed a little as he finished off what was left of his steak.
"... I bet you don't remember the girl you were with yesterday either," Kyle teased his older brother as he chuckled under his breath.
"What girl?" Y/N stopped sipping on her wine getting nosy with her kids. Dave was sitting back in his seat with his arm around Y/N's shoulder/seat as he exchanged looks amongst his family. "The girl you brought home the other week?"
"That was not his girl..." Kyndall said as she sipped on her water. "Well that's not the one I know of..."
Miles laughed at everyone being all up in his business. "Not you two airing out my dirty laundry like that, y'all seem to forget I know your business too, huh... Kyndall?" Miles teased his little sister, causing her to give him a death glare.
"Anyway," Kyle paused the conversation, seeing that his parents were becoming too invested in their business. "We're gonna head out." He gave Miles a look as he quickly agreed.
"Right, right. Meeting up with some friends. See you guys tomorrow. Love you!" He stood up as he dapped his father before kissing his mother on the cheek. Kyle did the same before they headed out.
"Okay, you guys be safe. We love you too!" Y/N said.
"Now what tea do your brothers have on you, lil mama?" Dave laughed as he interrogated his daughter.
She blushed a little as she sipped on her lemon water, avoiding her father. "Look at her getting all hot in the cheeks. It's just the three of us now,"
"And you know we'll drag it out of you." Her father finished.
"Fine," she finally gave in. "I... I'm going on a date tomorrow." She said before hiding her face. Boy, was she smitten.
"With who? Do we know him? Is he going to-" Dave paused as the waiter brought their bill. "Thank you, sir. Thank you for the great service."
"You're most welcome sir. Here you go," he said.
"Oh, my rich wife over here got it," he teased as he passed the bill to Y/N, making her playfully roll her eyes.
Although he was being playful, Y/N didn't mind paying because they had both agreed on no gender roles early in their relationship so something like paying the family bill didn't bother her, even though Dave wouldn't let her on most days.
"Dad," Kyndall chuckled. "Calm down. It's my friend Dominique."
"Friend?"
"David, stop interrogating her." Y/N interrupted with a laugh. If anything, Dave was giving Kyndall a taste of her own argumentative medicine. "I'm sure Dominique is a nice young fella."
"And he's fetching me with his mom tomorrow, before Daddy gets a heart attack, geez." She laughed with her mother, causing Dave to smack his lips.
"We'll see about this Dominic..." he pettily pronounced his name wrong with a sly smile.
