Once you and Draco had successfully gotten away from the mob of people, he dropped your hand. You were about to apologize to him, but you suddenly remembered something.

"Oh!"

Draco turns to you suddenly. "What? What happened?"

"Nothing! I just remembered I have to go to Hogsmeade tonight and get some more parchment." You answered. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Wait, I'll go with you. It's getting late. I don't want you stuck out in dark alone." He said.

"Awww, are you trying to protect me?" You joked.

His cheeks turned slightly red and he said, "No! Of course not,"

You laugh and playfully shove his shoulder, "Haha, I know, I was just teasing you. You can come with me if you want."

He nods and starts following you.

You and Draco reach Hogsmead, and you realize that neither of you had talked the whole walk there. But it hadn't been an awkward silence. It had been comfortable.

"Alright, I have to stop here. Are you going to protect me from all the big bad scary things in here too?" You joked when you reached Dervish and Banges.

Draco's only response was rolling his eyes as he followed you inside.

You went to grab the parchment you needed off the shelf but found you were too short. Suddenly, you felt someone against your back. You turned around quickly, finding Draco standing on his toes grabbing the parchment you needed. He lowered back down, and you found your nose level with his chin. You looked up at him, meeting his eyes. He smelled like...vanilla? Abruptly, he shoves your parchment towards your chest and takes a big step back.

"Umm...shall we go pay?" He asked.

"Right. Yeah," You say, but he was already starting toward the counter.

Both you and Draco had started the long walk back to Hogwarts, but your thoughts were preoccupied with what had happened in Dervish and Banges. You were so focused on it, that you hadn't realized how cold it had gotten. It had gotten so cold, your teeth were chattering and you were shivering. You glanced over at Draco but found he was just fine in his Slytherin sweater. You looked down at your long sleeve shirt and cursed yourself for not wearing anything warmer.

"Here," Draco said.

You turned to him to see him taking off his sweater and handing it to you to wear.

"Oh." You frowned. "But won't you get cold?"

He laughed. "I would rather be a little cold than hear your teeth chattering all the way back. I'll be fine."

"Okay...if you say so." You take his sweater and pull it over your head. Yep, it was definitely vanilla you smelled back in the shop. Even if you were reluctant to take his sweater, you couldn't deny the extra warmth felt nice. But it was still quite cold, and you could tell it wouldn't keep you warm all the way back to Hogwarts. Draco must have sensed that, and slung his arm around your shoulder pulling you towards his side. You were surprised at first but gladly accepted it, leaning against him. You weren't sure what to say, so you just looked up and gave him a little smile. He saw it and gave you a slightly bigger one.

If you were being honest with yourself, you could stay like this forever.
