Fury knew that he would be stupid not to add you to the team. You had one of the best records in successful SHIELD missions since Romanoff, both individually and as a team lead. The only thing stopping him from giving you immediate orders to transfer from a regular SHIELD team to the Avengers was your asthma. You had proven time and time again that your asthma wasn't an issue out in the field, but the worry was that one day it could become one.
You had heard the rumor that Director Fury was considering you for a transfer to the Avengers. Captain America had told you himself, before insisting several times that you needed to call him Steve. He even told you that he had recommended you to Fury along with Black Widow and Hawkeye. You tried not to get overly excited about the possibility of working with the Avengers.
You knew that the only thing stopping the Director from immediately transferring you was your asthma. You were excellent at handling your asthma in the field. No one besides the Director and Captain America knew about your asthma. Steve would often check in on you after missions, an extra inhaler in hand just in case. The majority of the time, you had it taken care of but you appreciated the fact that he cared enough to have an extra inhaler on him. (You had found out that soon after Steve learned about your asthma, he kept an extra inhaler on his suit at all times.)
"Y/N," Steve greeted as he walked into your office. You looked up to see a large grin spread across his face.
"Steve," you replied, "what's going on?"
"I'm here to escort you to Fury's office."
"Since when are you happy about going to Fury's office?" You stood up with a curious expression on your face.
"This will be the only time."
You hummed as you and Steve walked out of your office and headed for Fury's office.
"Do you know what this is about?" You asked.
"Maybe," Steve smirked.
"Am I... Did I make the team? Am I getting transferred?"
"I'm not saying anything."
Steve led you into Fury's office where the Director was sitting at his desk waiting for you.
"Sir," you said, "you asked for me."
"I did," Fury responded. "Congratulations, Agent, you're being transferred over to the Avengers."
You tried not to squeal with excitement. "Thank you, sir. I won't let you down."
"You better not. Rogers?"
"Yes," Steve stepped up.
"Help our newest member pack up her office and apartment. We need her moved into the compound by the end of the week."
"Of course. I'll pull some members of the team to help."
"Alright. You both are dismissed."
You bit your lip, suppressing your squeal, as you and Steve exited the office. Once you two were alone in the elevator, you let out an excited squeal as you jumped up and down. Steve laughed, holding up his hands to try and get you to stop.
"You've got to be careful, Y/N," Steve chuckled. "You're going to trigger an asthma attack."
"I don't care! I'm an Avenger!" You cheered.

"I don't understand why we have to help the newbie move in," Tony complained. "I've already readied her bedroom, providing her a place to stay. Do we really—"
"Stop complaining, Stark," Natasha said.
"Steve can't stop talking about how amazing this agent is," Bucky added.
