"I wanted to protect you and the others," Nanami finally admitted.

I looked up at him from my tea, brows furrowed together.

"And that pushing yourself away was a good idea?"

Nanami averted his gaze from me.

"Are you stupid?" I blurted out, "Who mentioned that suppressing yourself from everyone around you was a good idea? Tell me. Do I need to bring Haibara back to life and smack some sense into you?"

Nanami glanced back at me, settling his cup down with a heavy sigh.

"You know he's too nice to do that."

"Then I will. Shit, I'm not scared to beat the living shit out of you if you're going be like this 'til you die."

"Y/n, please," Nanami pinched his nose bridge, "people will--"

"You're such a pessimistic, Nanami!" Haibara laughed. "Why can't you look on the bright side for once? Right, Y/n? Back me up here!"

"Haibara's right," I responded, unbothered to look up from my phone.

"Thank you!" Haibara laughed, taking my phone away as he wrapped another arm around the tall blonde. "Now, let's go have some fun, my friends!"

Nanami blinked as my eyes glistened a bright red before him.

And with a scoff, Nanami leaned back with his arms crossed.

"Haibara's going to come back and haunt you now."

"I highly doubt that," I chuckled. "But seriously, go on Malaysia already and clear your head. I know you need a break more than anyone."

"And what about you?" He cocked a brow at me, "You're pregnant now. You should start taking it easy before you stress everyone out."

"What do you mean? I'm just a teacher," I crossed my arms at him. "It's not like I'm out on field missions like Gojo."

"That's still risky, Y/n."

"Don't worry~ I'm still early in my semester, but once I'm further in, I promise I'll take it easy," I chuckled with a hand over my belly. "Which reminds me, since Gojo is well... You know, immature, I was considering if would you be interested in becoming the baby's godfather?"

"As long as Gojo's not interfering, they'll be in safe hands."

I smiled at Nanami with eagerness as he flashed a slight smile back.

From there on, our lunch went off like a breeze. As we caught up and enjoyed each other's company, my phone suddenly rang.

"Hold on, Shoko's calling me," I went ahead and picked up. "Hello?"

"Y/n? Where are you?"

I glanced back at Nanami, "I'm having lunch with Nanami. Why?"

"Well... There was a, um, error during your examination."

"Error? What do you mean, 'error'?"

There was a tone of panic in my tone that caught Nanami's attention.

"It's nothing bad, Y/n! Don't worry. But I think you and Gojo should head over and take a look."

"All right..."

The call ended and I turned back to Nanami whose eyes twinkled with concern.

Quickly making our way back to the school, I filled Nanami in about the conversation.

Entering Shoko's room, Gojo was sitting on her desk while she poured herself a drink.

"Y/n, love!" Gojo gleefully hopped off the desk and welcomed me with a warm embrace. "How was lunch with Nanamin?"

"Good, but what's the issue?" I asked, peeking over Gojo's huge frame to look at Shoko.

"Before that, Nanami, care for a drink?" Shoko glances up at us with her tired dark eyes.

But the blonde shook his head with his hand out.

"I'm good."

But Shoko shrugged it off, "I'll just make you a glass just in case."

"Shoko, can you just tell us what's going on before Timeless tells me?" I groaned, still in Gojo's arms.

"Mhm, right," She sipped on her alcoholic beverage before making her way back behind her desk.

Shoko placed her cup down and turned her monitor towards us with an image of my ultrasound.

"You see this?" She pointed at the image.

"Our baby?" Gojo tilted his head in confusion.

"No, babies." Shoko progressed to point out another figure that overlapped the other.

My eyes immediately widened in utter shock at Shoko's correction.

"You mean..? W-We're having twins?!" I blinked at her.

Shoko nodded, and as a result, Gojo jumped onto his feet to cheer while Nanami was left dumbstruck.

"The worst-case scenario just became possible..." Nanami muttered, covering his face in disappointment.

"Apparently this little one was hiding behind their sibling," Shoko let out a small chortle before handing Nanami a glass of whiskey. "But we'll have to take another ultrasound to confirm it."

"Shoko! Why didn't you tell us earlier about twins?!" Gojo happily laughed.

"I'm not an ultrasound technician, okay? This isn't my kind of work, but, Y/n needs one."

"And I'm grateful for that," I smiled and the two of us walked into a separate room, leaving Nanami to handle Gojo's pure excitement.

Settling down, Shoko prepared her supplies when there was a knock on the door.

"Come in!" Shoko called and began the ultrasound.

Satoru rushed inside, his smile still shining brightly from the news, while in contrast, Nanami trailed behind him with a gloomy expression.

"Oh, c'mon Nanamin~! Twins are great news!"

"Meaning more trouble..."

As the two approached us, we all turned to the monitor when two small figures appeared side to side on the screen.

"That concludes it; congrats on the twins, Y/n and Satoru," Shoko smiled at us.

"Yay~! Twins~!" Gojo bounced around the room once more as my eyes remained glued to the monitor.

"This is going to be an interesting pregnancy..."

"Tell me about it. Two more Gojo's? I'm not sure how you can handle that," Shoko leaned against her chair with a small chuckle.

"Or how any of us will," Nanami commented. "Does this still mean I have to be their godfather?"

"Yes," I glared daggers at the blonde. "It's not like they're going to be exact copies of their father."

Followed by Gojo's laughter, he tightly held onto my hands and gently brushed his lips against them.

"Don't worry~ I'm sure their mother's genetics are more dominant than mine anyway. Meaning, they're going to be as beautiful as you."

"Satoru..."

"Tell me, Shoko... What else am I supposed to do when they look exactly nothing like her but their useless father..?"
