"You are the head of the Gojo Clan, Satoru. Act like it and do your job to protect the Clan and the innocent." Satoru's mother whispered harshly at him.

"If I truly am the head of the Clan, then you will obey my orders." Satoru scowled coldly down at her.

"You will regret saying--"

"No," He cut her off, "you will regret everything you've done to put her and our unborn twins in danger. Even if you are my mother, I will not hesitate to kill you. And I will not hesitate to protect them at all costs."

The moment flooded me in a flash, allowing me to process what was genuinely happening.

"Satoru, honey, why is Mother here?" I furrowed my brows together, slightly feeling dizzy.

My husband quickly approached me, gently grabbing me as he steadied me into his grip.

"Don't worry, she was just about to leave," His eyes coldly darted in her direction before flashing a warm smile back at me. "Why don't you go back inside and I'll meet you back in a bit? Hmm?"

I did sense a bit of vulnerability, however, my eyes slowly shifted to Mother, only to catch a glimpse of her glaring back at me in disgust.

"Actually, I have a few words I would like to share," I pulled away from Satoru's grip and marched towards her.

While my mother-in-law watched me approach her, she raised her brow, arms crossed as I protectively wrapped an arm around my bump.

"What is it now?" There was a slight annoyance in her tone.

"I've always looked up to you and the Gojo Clan before I married Satoru. Because of that, I wanted to be a better wife and daughter-in-law. But lately, I've started to notice that you've truly never accepted me."

My mother-in-law scoffed, tilting her head to the side, "What else did you expect? Of course, it was your family name that got you here in the first place!"

"Mom!" Satoru shouted in shock and anger. "Why would you ever say that?!"

My eyes widened as tears swelled up, also surprised by her response. But yet it also ached me to hear those words come out of her mouth.

Was everything a lie? After all those fond moments we've had?

"Why, my daughter-in-law is stunning!" Mother looked at me through the mirror, smiling warmly with Father beside her. "Satoru would not be able to keep his eyes off you."

I chuckled, touching the diamond necklace she had put on me, "Thank you, Mother."

Not to mention that day when we discussed having a family together.

"Oh my!" Satoru's mother clasped her hands together, "That would be splendid, wouldn't it, honey?"

Father chuckled, "If you two plan to, we'll send all the high-quality medicines to help."

"And some homemade miso soup, of course! It will help you conceive the future heir of the Gojo Clan!" She giggled, taking her hands in mine, "Oh, I can't wait to have the little ones lighten the place..."

Tears began to fall down my cheeks while my blood boiled in anger.

"Everything they did was a lie." A raspy voice echoed, "And for what? Just to put you and the unborn twins in danger? They never accepted you from the start!"

"It was all an act, wasn't it? " I mumbled under my breath, slowly lifting my head to glare at her.

"Y/n san!" Yuta frantically called behind us.
