Chapter 16

Tori was alone in the woods when she heard a branch break, she turned around to see a young girl with dark brown and black hair holding a stuffed toy wolf in her hand as she walked in the woods. The sky was turning dark, in the distance, a wolf could be heard howling.

"Hey, kid. Stop, where are your parents?" Tori asked the kid. The child ran towards the sound of the wolf ignoring Tori.

"Yo! Child stop! It's not safe to be in the wood at night," Tori yelled as she chased the child but the girl kept running. Tori ran faster to catch the child, she could hear the wolf's howl closer and she knew the wolf would kill anything and everything in its path. Tori was going to grab the child but her hand went through her like a ghost.

"What the—," Tori said as she looked at her hands. She looked at the girl in front of her who had stopped staring ahead into the woods.

"Hello?" Tori said looking at the child, as she walked in front to face the girl. Shock filled Tori's eyes when she saw the child's face. The child looked like her when she was four years old.

Tori heard a growl behind her, she quickly turned around to protect the child but the girl ran through Tori towards where the growl originated.

Tori followed the child to see a huge brown wolf pinning down a woman. The brunette girl was struggling to get out of the wolf's grip. Tori watched as the woman caught the wolf's jaw before it could rip into her, Tori noticed that woman was able to hold her own but it seemed the wolf was slowly able to gain power over the woman making her grunt as she struggled to survive.

Tori noticed the child run and touch the wolf making the wolf pass out.

The woman sat up in shock staring at the young girl. "How did you?" The woman asked in shock

"Are you okay miss?" The child asked the woman

"Yeah," the woman replied as she stood up. Tori watched the interaction, something felt familiar, like deja-vu. Tori walked closer to the duo, she recognised the woman. It was Elena. Tori's face eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

"Listen, child, go find your mommy," the woman who looked like Elena said before blurring away leaving the kid alone. Realisation hit Tori, the woman was Katherine and the child was her. She was reliving a memory.

Baby Tori stood in the middle of the woods all alone, holding her stuffed toy close to her, looking around the forest. Suddenly, Katherine reappeared in front of her. "Okay kid, let's go find your mommy," Katherine said in an annoyed tone. "I don't wanna go home, I am hungry and mommy and Daddy are being mean to each other, Care is staying with Bonnie. Can we get something to eat? Please?" Baby Tori asked

"Listen, kid, the only reason I came back is that I owe you one for saving my life. I don't care if you are hungry once I drop you home you can starve there and annoy your parents," Katherine told Tori

"You are very mean, I should have helped the wolf eat you," Tori told Katherine sassily walking in front of the vampire. Katherine smiled at the girl "Fine, what's your favorite food," the vampire asked Tori

"I like cheese," Tori said smiling at the vampire

"Cheese? Really? How about I get you a pizza?" Katherine suggested

"Oh I like Pizza too," Tori told the vampire

"All right, come on," Katherine said as she carried Tori on her back "Hold on tight," Katherine told the child before vamp sped away. Tori was suddenly transported near the falls. Katherine and baby Tori were sitting on the ground eating pizza
