Seraphina:

She couldn't help but smile in relief as he stated she was not a nobody. After finding out who Seth was, she thought it might have been a lie. However, hearing him say she wasn't...confirmed it. Sera didn't blame him for saying it, especially now knowing all the facts, well...not ALL the facts, but enough to trust it. Her sight followed him as he kneeled before her, unsure what he was thinking, or more critically...what he was feeling. Although she was typically flinching on contact, she didn't, not with Draven, never with him. She instead leaned against his touch, finding comfort in it. Loving how gentle he could be with such strong hands. Though his skin was rough, his touch was not. So, he didn't want her to leave? The pure sense of relief that spread through her was beyond words; releasing a held breath, only managing to nod in agreement that she wouldn't leave him either. So confused by his statement of regret. What could that mean? Did he mean staying with her would cause disappointment? Draven did say he didn't want her to leave. However, it did make sense he might regret it. There will be trouble with Seth, his boss, and of course, demons and vampires...

Standing up with his assistance, she was taken aback by his words, 'I don't want to lose you' knowing it mirrored her feelings. She didn't comprehend that he felt the same. After all these years, they still had feelings for each other? She wiped her tears, many different emotions going through her, panic that he would risk himself for her, incredible happiness that he cared enough to stay with her, and fear that he would get hurt. Sera couldn't voice what was felt as it was all too powerful. So instead, she merely watched him, listening intently to his words, wondering what he was thinking. He seemed to struggle with something, and she wasn't sure what it could be. She was grateful that he didn't blame her...but it didn't alleviate her guilt. Regardless of it being Lucas, she was the one that called him.

What did she think he would be able to do from the phone? She hadn't thought that far. Her first and only thoughts were of Draven. From day one, he was her lifeline, her savior, and whenever she felt she needed someone, he was her first thought. She had selfishly called him; of course, he had gone there. What else had she expected? She would have rushed off to him if he had called her. She should have known better. She should have left him out of it...what would have happened if she hadn't called him? What would his life have been? Maybe he would be safe and happy, maybe married with kids...okay, that last thought caused her heart to constrict. Yeah, she wanted him happy...but with her...yes, she was selfish...sue her. Her head shot up at his words, causing her thoughts to focus on him, '...don't leave....' It took all of her strength to not let her tears flow again as she whispered. "I won't...."

Sera's eyes watched his facial expressions as he seemed to study her like he was trying to work something out. Nervous if she had said the wrong thing, that maybe he was reconsidering what he had just said. Could he truly have the same feelings for her that she had for him? Or was it impossible that it could be mutual? Was it merely friendship that he wanted and nothing more? No, that definitely could not be the case. Her soul sensed their connection. He has to feel it, too...right? She tilted her head in confusion, worried about what was going through his mind, and as he shifted toward her, Sera couldn't move. Only able to watch his eyes, her own trying to convey all the feelings trying to burst from her heart. She usually hated anyone close to her, not this time, again, not Draven. She knew exactly what he was about to do. It was something she had wanted to do more than anything at that moment, though it still surprised her as their lips met. The energy between them was intense. Something she never ever dreamed was a feeling that was possible. That was only in fairy tales and movies...wasn't it? No...she definitely felt it...their first kiss...

She had never kissed another. Being on her own since she was a teenager had caused her to become cold to others, isolating herself from people. Not even once in all those years had she felt the need to be near another living soul...except Draven. She felt cold when he pulled back, instantly missing his warmth against her, the kiss still lingering on her lips, her heart pounding in her chest, for the first time not from fear. His expression showed he had felt the spark just as she had. His plea almost brought tears to her eyes again, for an entirely different reason than before, "I promise Draven...." Realizing that he genuinely wanted them to stay together, her eyes lit up instantly. Deep down, she hoped he would think that, but still hearing it, made her heart want to jump for joy.
