the note that seolhyun had left on her bedside table read as clear as day

call when bench boy leaves ;)

so she did so without much thought. thats where hyejin was now. at the dining table with seolhyun sitting across from her with an all too knowing smirk.

"so you and bench boy-" seolhyun was quickly cut off before she could finish her sentence

"we aren't dating"

"oh? thats not what it looked like though" seolhyun inquired, her tone holding both amusement and light confusion. upon noticing her best friends reddening face though she decided not to tease the girl and shook her head before taking a sip from her glass "i'm kidding, i know you aren't one for relationships"

letting out a relieved sigh, hyejin took a sip out of her own glass before the gears in her head finally started to turn. blinking a few times she tilted her head in confusion before quickly grabbing her phone, much to seolhyun's own confusion.

"ah ha! i'm not going crazy!" hyejin's exclamation only served to confuse seolhyun more though before she could ask what exactly hyejin was talking about, a phone was pushed in front of her face. the phone was unlocked and showed the calander app opened "you're here early! why?"

gently pushing the phone away from her face, seolhyun looked away with a small grumble as she glared at the floor. hyejin decided to be nice and give her friend a moment but the longer seolhyun stayed quiet, the more impatient hyejin got and it wasn't long until she broke the silence

"well?" she inquired. she was expecting an answer from seolhyun, which said girl seemed to understand as she let out a defeated sigh "yuna and i got into a fight so i decided to come back early..." trailing off seolhyun looked anywhere but hyejin as she felt like she was about to be yelled at.

she was right.

it had taken hyejin a second to actually process seolhyun's answer as part of her didn't think she'd get an answer so easily. the second everything clicked together though... now that's when all hell broke loose. slamming her hands onto the table with a loud bang, hyejin ignored the sharp sting that shot through her hands as she abruptly stood up, chair scooting back with a squeak as it slid harshly against the wood floor. hyejin's eyes were narrowed into a sharp glare as both worry and anger shined through them.

"your telling me you left my sister all alone in a foreign country over a petty fight!? what the actual fuck seolhyun! you can't just do that! what if something happens!?! I don't care that she's older than us! she's still a girl in a foreign country, and by what i read in the groupchat, with a strange guy!" hyejin's voice came out sharp and scolding but not once did she raise her voice. hyejin has never raised her voice to yell at anyone before and she didn't plan to start. that in itself though made it all the more terrible to seolhyun as while she could hear the obvious anger she could also catch the hint of disappointment and now that THAT hurt, but as always, hyejin was right. what she did was childish and idiotic.

hyejin took a deep breath before collapsing back onto the chair. she couldn't help but feel like she was overreacting, maybe she was being too harsh? I mean they were all adults. hell! yuna was even more so as she was four years older than the two but at the same time... that was still her sister. her best friend. so she couldn't help but worry! and seolhyun needed to learn to stop running from her problems! as mean as it sounded it was true. ever since yuna and seolhyun first met their personalities clashed. while yes they were the best of friends and even closer to eachother than hyejin was to them, they still got into constant fights and arguments. like a married couple as hyejin used to joke but now wasn't the time. this was a serious matter and she at least hoped seolhyun understood that. hyejin let out another sigh as she harshly rubbed at her temple in hopes of soothing her oncoming headache.
