"Yo! where are you? Sanzu brought some girls here and they were looking for you." Rindou said on the phone, Ran could hear Sanzu's laugh from miles away. He shook his head and focused on driving. He is currently on his way home from work and definitely not in the mood to go to the bar right now.

"How many times did I tell you that I don't like that kind of thing."

"Eh? You never dated since your nasty break-up in high school. Don't tell me..."

"Shut up, Rin. I have a company to run which by the way needs your help. I don't have time for commitment."

Rindou sighed on the other line. "Whatever you say, man. You're not gonna come by here later?"

"Nope, I'm driving home."

"hmmm,"

"What?"

"If I think about it... You don't come here every Monday. y/n's day off is on Monday. I am starting to think that you're only coming here just to see her."

"Goodbye, Rin!"

"Ha! I'm right, right? I'm—" Ran immediately end the call and didn't let his brother finish his sentence.

"What an ass." He whispered, shaking his head.

As he was driving his way, He passed by Koko's apartment building, and there, he saw you stepping out of the building together with Koko. He's guiding you to his car and opening the door for you. Ran suddenly remembered the past, making him clench on the steering wheel.

"Why am I not surprised?"

Two months passed since you got hired at Ran's bar, and so far, everything is calm. Due to Koko's help, you've been able to have the money for Aina's tuition and can still put food on the table for you and for your mother.

To summarize, everything is going well in terms of financially. Though it's far from great, you're still grateful that you're surviving.

As for Ran, he is a bit cold but you are slowly getting used to seeing him every day... without well... breaking down.

You are now putting some stocks in the stockroom, reaching for the top shelves. "This is the last one." You tiptoe your feet to push a box when you lost your balance, making you wobble. You really thought that you'll fall on your butt but instead, you felt a warm solid behind you.

"Thanks for catching, Chifu—" You got cut off when you turned your head and saw that it was Ran.

"Ran—Boss... Ran."

"Bring a bottle of bourbon to VIP."

"Yes—Yes." You bowed and were about to walk past him when he put his arms in front of you, blocking your way.

"Do you need anything else, boss?" You asked in a confused tone.

"You said that you're just Koko's cleaning lady... You haven't changed aren't you, y/n?"

"What? What are you saying?"

Ran scoffed. "Why are you staying at Koko's unit until 10:00 pm if you're just his cleaning lady? I saw you and Koko stepping out of his apartment building together."

"Wha—how?" Did he see me yesterday?

"So you're spending the night with him, huh? why? is it because he has a lot of money? Are you really that desperate to earn money that you're seducing Koko?" Ran took a step forward, making you step back.
