Alec look pleased with himself. I'll admit I was also pleased... Only a tad, I swear!

The mass of children watching on went wild! Teenagers of all ages cheering and clapping for Alec.

"That was so amazing" Jess whispered from my side. I'd jumped a little from the sound of her voice, I'd forgotten she was there.

Although a feeling of justice welled up inside me, I'd never seen a fight before, and it scared me to death!

Whatever possessed me to do what I did next, I'd never know, but as the cheers rang on through the hallway, I took a step forward.

"Indi, what are you doing?!" Jess whispered, half amused half worried.

"I just want to see if Jeremiah is alright" I responded dishonestly. I would never care for Jeremiah, and that wasn't changing now. No matter how much I wanted to hide it deep down inside, I was curious as to why Alec had fought with Jeremiah. And as much as I hate to admit it, I wanted to see if Alec was alright.

As I took another step forward, I felt the eyes of curious teenagers burn in the back of my head. Questioning glances were thrown my way from all directions.

Alec was too consumed in his glory to realise that I'd broke the formation of the circle and was approaching ever so slowly.

"Hey Alec, looks like you've got a groupie" one boy shouted.

"Aw Alec someone's in love with you" another shouted.

Stupid teenage guys, probably friends of Alec, continued to shout immature comments. Seriously guys, I thought to myself, I'm only walking towards him, not throwing myself at him.

Alec finally getting the picture that someone, that someone being me, was approaching, he turned to me, a cocky smile spreading across his features.

"Look babe, I know that I'm strong and attractive and just won a fight that, let's face it, we all knew I was going to win, but there's no need to come to me so publicly. Couldn't have waited till it was a bit more private?" He mocked.

It took me a second to register what he was saying. I wasn't very experienced with dirty minded comments. When I'd finally figured out what he meant, I was thoroughly embarrassed.

"Uh- I- I'm- Ah" I stammered. What the hell was I thinking coming out here. I heard chuckling coming from behind me and I turned to see who the source was, it was Jess. I turned back towards Alec, a blush creeping it's way up my neck, colouring my cheeks.

"Um sorry, I- I'll just um, leave" I finally muttered out. At that point in time loud shouts were heard down the hallway, fast approaching. Teens were fast disappearing, running in all directions. There must've been teachers coming.

Alec looked at me and if it were possible, I'm pretty sure my cheeks grew redder, I was a living, breathing, walking tomato.

"Well what are you waiting for, the teachers are coming. I didn't think someone like you would wait around to get in trouble" Alec sauntered, a smirk evident on his face.

On instinct I became defensive. "How would you know if I wasn't the type to 'wait around to get in trouble' and what about you huh? Aren't you gonna get in trouble for knocking the last few brain cells out of Jeremiah?!" I argued.

What in the heck am I doing, I yelled at myself internally. I'm arguing with Alec Taylors, THE Alec Taylors!

Alec chuckled.

"Well yeah, it's the last day but I'm sure they'd find a way to 'punish' you for being a bystander" Alec snickered, knowing somehow that I'd hate myself for getting in trouble.

"Well what about you and zombie on the floor over here" I nodded my head in the direction of the unconscious body of Jeremiah on the floor. "You'll probably get community service or something for knocking him out cold if they catch you. Aren't you worried?" I questioned, bewildered by his nonchalance.

"Sweetheart do you really think I'm scared about community service? It's nothing I haven't done before" Alec replied.

Most teenagers had cleared by now, and the teachers were mere seconds away from catching us at the scene of the crime.

Too exaggerated...? Okay...

"Oh my god I'm going to get caught what am I still doing here?!" I worried aloud.

Alec stood, arms crossed, expression highly amused as he watched me begin to loose my defensive composure and become increasingly worried that I was going to get caught.

"Wow, it's tragic isn't it? Young girl, never before been in trouble, about to get caught at scene of a fight. You're gone for" Alec mocked, enjoying my discomfort.

I began to turn my head left, than right, deciding which direction I should run.

"Oh for Christ sake, you're hopeless" Alec said rolling his eyes.

I was about to shout at him to shut his mouth and let me make my getaway, when suddenly his fingers wrapped around my wrist. A jolt of electricity ran up my arm.

"Come on, if you don't want to get in trouble then you better come with me" Alec said, tugging on my wrist, pulling me away from the approaching teachers.

I had a millisecond debate in my mind, whether to follow him or not. I finally came to the decision that I'd see where Alec would take me.

Giving in to his tug, I let my legs follow suit and ran behind him as he wove through students and corridors.

"Where are you taking me?" I questioned as we ran, the sound of shouting becoming faint.

"Just shut up and follow me, would you?" He called over his shoulder.

As we ran I began to notice the stares following us. Some amused, some curious and some venomous. Certain girls that followed us with their eyes gave me glares so full of hatred, I became self conscious of the fact that Alec was still holding my wrist.

We rounded one last corner and Alec forcefully pushed open a door and ushered me inside.

Suddenly I was hit with a terrifying smell. Sweat mixed with feet and.... Overall, teenage boy.

"Don't- tell me you- brought me to- the boys- locker room" I managed to puff out in between breathes.

Alec was clearly unmoved from the run we had just completed, stood amusedly watching me trying to catch my breathe.

"I thought you'd like it" he replied sarcastically.

"Why'd you help me get away from the teachers?" I suddenly asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

"I was intrigued" he replied, taking me off guard.

"Intrigued by what?" I asked, bewildered.

"Why you walked out into the middle of the circle. Where I was" Alec replied simply.

And he's finally asked what I'd been asking myself that whole time.

What was I thinking?!
