Attached is a picture of Indigo...
Yes it's Selena Gomez I know I know. How could anyone think she was the nerdy person? She's too awesome!

As I pulled into the school parking lot I caught sight of my best friend, Jess, short for Jessica obviously. She hates being called Jessica though because whenever she gets in trouble, which is a lot, everyone uses Jessica and she hates it. So now she just goes by Jess.

I know what you're thinking, I've never ever gotten into trouble yet Jessica is the typical bad girl. It's strange yes, but Jess isn't just a trouble maker. She's intelligent and funny. I've always wanted a best friend that could make me laugh so hard I cry, but I also want somebody whom I could have intelligent conversations with. Her and I can go from so silly we look insane to very serious we could be mistaken for mature adults in a matter of milliseconds. We're just strange like that. Don't judge.

As soon as Jess saw my car pull up she was sprinting over to me. Suddenly my car door was being wrenched open and just as I finished unbuckling my seat belt she had grabbed my arm and was pulling me out of the car. Man she's strong.

"INDIGO INDIGO INDIGO I MISSED YOU!" She squealed.
"Dude, it was the weekend. I only didn't see you for two days. People are looking, seriously, chillax!" I whispered to her making sure not to attract any more attention.

"Finishing on a Monday kinda sucks. I mean, they made us come to school for one day after the weekend just finished. They wanna make sure they torture us as much as they can before we finish don't they?" As Jess rambled on I locked my car and looped my arm through hers. I rolled my eyes at her words, typical Jess would say those things.

Entering the hallway, we continued walking, arms looped, on our way to home room. Passing by our lockers which have always been side by side, mind you, we got our stack of books for first and second period.

"Indigo... Look at him, he's so hot!" Jess whined, staring longingly over her shoulder.
Sneaking a glance over my left shoulder, I saw who she was talking about. Alec Taylors. Not only had Jess gushed over him for the entirety of our high school lives, she basically stalked him.

Okay it's not what it sounds like. She hasn't stalked him. She just knows a lot about him... Like, a lot. He's the "bad boy" of the school, girls chasing after him left and right. Oh how Jess wished to be one of his casualties, one of the girls he would turn to in a "time of need". And you'd think she might've been. Jess being the "bad girl" and Alec being the "bad boy" you'd think she may have had a chance. Well apparently not. He turned a blind eye to her. Never noticed either of us in the six years we've been here.

"I just want him to notice me!" Jess pouted.
"Jess it's the last day of school. Ever. Chances are he's gonna continue to ignore us until he dies at this rate. But just imagine, university, soooooo many good looking guys, ten times as hot as Alec, it's a chance to start over and get a better guy!!" I said enthusiastically, hoping to stop her sulking.

"You're so right Indigo! Do you think any uni guys will like me?" Jess asked hopeful.
"I know they'll like you Jess!" I answered.

Without another glance at Alec, we both walked our way towards home room. Ready for the last day of high school, ever.

Jess and I entered the classroom and took our normal seats in the middle of the room. As the teacher droned on about correct uniform even though it's the last day, then took the role, I couldn't help but feel so unaccomplished.

Yeah maybe I was a straight A student, but is that really living? No, it's definitely not! I haven't done one fun thing in my extraordinarily boring life. Living day to day with only worries about whether my shirt matched my shoes and my homework was up to date was the limit of thoughts I had a day.

I needed a change, a fresh start however cliche it may sound. University was an opportunity of a lifetime, but I didn't want to take it the exact same way I'd taken high school.

So it's final, starting from now, my life is going to take a turn for the better. I will be noticed as I walk through the campus of uni. I will be the girl that people look up to for advice, not the one that looks for advice. I will be a new Indigo!

A piercing ringing shocked me from my revolutionary thoughts.

"Indigo, what the hell are you doing staring off into space?! We're gonna be late to class" Jess called, waving a hand inches from my face.

I looked around shocked, the classroom was empty, with students lining up outside waiting for their teacher so that they can enter for their first class.

'Seriously Indigo' I thought to myself. 'Smooth, real smooth'.

Hey guys, hope you enjoyed.

I'm sorry for this chapter being really short. It's my first time writing a book so the chapters probably won't be hugely long.

Thanks for reading!
