"Then what do you want."

"... Well, it's not really something I want, more or less, it's an apology. For the way I've been acting." He looks me square in the eyes while saying this, showing pure sincerity.

"I... I didn't really expect an apology.. What are you getting out of this?" I ask, daring a possible bargain out of the boy.

"I'd like your friendship and time." He looks almost pleadingly, his hands shake but he never looks away from my eyes, unlike me, who shied away a bit ago.

I strongly believe in second chances. And his apology seems sincere enough..

"Ok. I accept your apology. And your request."

Ding!

"Wonderful!" He extends his hand towards me, requesting to shake on the matter. I ablige, and our hands intertwine in a firm handshake.

~~time skip to after yn and nagito sorta awkwardly waited outside together waiting for everyone else to come up the elevator.

I give gundham a long hug and make my way back to my cottage, by now adrenaline had died down and Im exhausted. I fall face first on my bed and let tears stain the laced pillows. Really, is this seriously my life now? Am I to see my horrid demise here? Will I succumb to despair and cause another flame to extinguish? I shiver terribly at the thought. After a couple minutes of this, I eventually fall into a deep sleep.

Knock, knock, knock!

"Hmm, what?"

"May I come in?" It's nagito.

"Sure." I grumble to myself and rub the sleep out of my eyes.

The door opens to nagito, clearly fully energized and ready for the day. Morning person, I guess.

"Well, I thought I would walk you to the restaurant. Monomi said she had something to announce." He leans against the wall and I sit up in my bed.

"Oh, alright," memories of yesterday flash in my head and I shudder. "Just give me a sec-"

"You truly amaze me, (y/n)."

"Huh?" That's was random.

"You still cling to hope, even after witnessing such a despairing experience yesterday!" I just watch him ramble for a couple minutes.

"Ah, sorry if I freaked you out.. Just tell me to shut up if I do that again." He looks down on the floor with a pitiful smile. Well, shit. Now I feel bad.

"Oh, uh, no it's fine. I don't mind." Ok, I mind a bit, but it would be hypocritical of me to judge someone for something they're passionate about.

Actually, yeah, I don't mind at all. I love listening to people rant about things they're passionate about. It really opens a new window on what they could really be like.

"So, um, may you step out for a small while so I could get dressed?"

"Oh! Yeah, sorry."
