since the day

you uttered those

three words,

the thought of you

just never left my mind

everywhere i looked

i could only see you

but why,

why hadn't i known

that i had fallen for you

long before

it took me so long

to put myself together

and realise my love,

those three words

yearning to leave my mouth

and so i did,

i finally told you how

you were the only one i needed,

the only one i want to share

every single moment

of both happiness

and sadness

tears in both our eyes,

you looked at me

as if i meant nothing to you anymore

you told me everything you said

was nothing but a lie,

you said you never loved me,

but love,

how do i get myself to believe that?

what have i ever done to you

to make you want to

shatter me

and leave me so broken

i'm never myself anymore,

you've left me alone

to destroy myself,

empty bottles

strewn across the floor

because even alcohol

does not do its job anymore,

the pain has become

unbearable,

the thought of you

slowly annihilating me

and now,

i'm neither

alive

nor

am i

dead.
