I woke up in some sort of cold cellar with mossy stone walls on all sides. I had shackles over my hands and feet. As I turned, I noticed my head felt colder, and my hair didn't drape over my shoulders anymore. Craning my neck, I found my hair had been cut short. I tried to pull my chains but they were attached to a stone wall. There were spiders hanging above in the corners of the cell which freaked me out. I turned my head to look at a giant metal door with locks that had salt sprinkled all along the bottom where the door met the floor. My heart thumped in my chest as I heard the patter of footsteps coming ever closer to me. The giant metal door opened with a loud clunk sound. Two men with swords entered the room. They pulled my shackles out of the wall and tied a noose around my neck then tugged at it. As much as I wanted to spit at them and throw a rope over them, I didn't. My neck wanted to snap as they tugged persistently. Of course they won't bother to talk to me, I'm dangerous. I followed them, fearing what would happen if I didn't.

They marched me outside, close to the swan-shaped fountain. A makeshift stake had been set up. Some of the villagers tied me with ropes that cut into my skin. I wanted to cry so I let the tears flow. My heart felt like it was gonna jump out of my chest. The ropes cut deeper into my flesh as angry villagers held up torches while cheering. Funny, my death was a celebration to them, I feel bitter hatred and want to hurt them as bad as they hurt me. Some cheering villagers from the crowd started to stack dry hay around the stake I was tied to. After checking their work they pulled out some bottles of a yellowish liquid. Then they poured it all over the dried hay.

I felt betrayed as I spotted my father in the crowd. I wanted to shout out and cry. My eyes teared up even more as the wind blew through my hair. They took a torch and slowly started walking towards me. I looked up and saw the sky turn blood red and hot pink. Some doves landed on the stake right above me. I looked down and saw embers rising from the fire below. I couldn't hold it. I shouted in protest and fear.

The people sprinkled salt on them and prayed. As the mayor cheered loudly over everyone else. I could feel the heat coming close to my feet. I was going to be burnt alive. I didn't want to believe it. My heart hurt as I saw my father look away from me. I screamed as loud as I could over the crackling fire " STOP! PLEASE STOP!" I cried hard and loud. The flames licked my feet and all I could do was scream in pain. The ropes cut even deeper into my flesh so I winced. The doves Flew away and crows replaced the delicate birds. I lost hope and For a moment I could see the demon among the crowd watching. Then I saw a brilliant flash of color and there were beasts of every color of every size growling and snapping. People who cheered suddenly screamed and gasped. A giant colorful dragon silently came up and the flames went out with the dragon, someone in a cloak grabbed my arm and I stood on my feet, the moment I

Started to stand and I winced and immediately knew my feet were seriously burnt. I got pulled along and reached the edge of the woods, without hesitation the mysterious person dragged me away Into the woods.

My heart was beating fast and I was so shocked. "Who are you?" "Why did you save me?" I asked out of breath as we walked through the woods. "Well, I couldn't let a child burn; especially on my watch!" He shuddered "it's kinda chilly." He changes the topic. "How did you find me?" I asked curiously, "well, honestly it was my friend who alerted me that someone was here, I was looking for that someone right about now until I saw some sort of burning." he responded like it was no big deal. "Do you have magic? Who is your friend, why did you come here, who are you anyway?" I asked. "You can bombard me with questions later ok?" he said, a little irritated. I stayed quiet after that, until he unexpectedly quickly shouted "RUN!" I was confused but I obeyed. "What's going on?!" Then came an inhuman shriek. The moment I heard it, I realized that thing was after me. I ran as fast as I could but I still looked back. The demon was trailing behind and he was running straight at me. It ran like a ravenous, feral animal.

The man quickly entered a field of flowers, and I followed. I tripped on a flower bed and I thought it was gonna drag me back into the forest, but I heard it shriek in... pain?

I swerved my head around and saw brilliant flashes of blue coming around like a barrier. The demon shrieked in anger and said in a low gravelly voice, "you won't be safe forever!" It paced side to side. Like a cat but more menacing and less innocent.

I backed up and winced as the burns on my feet made it unbearable to walk. I panted hard, "what is that? A demon?!"

He looked at me, then the beast. "It's a demon living in the dark woods, I have no idea how it got out considering we had to lock it up because of how powerful it is. Unless it strung up a piece of its soul somewhere here, which I swear wasn't possible, it should still be under the most advanced spells ever known."

He was scared, I could tell from the way his voice changed as he talked. I pondered a question, why me? so I asked him "why was it chasing me?" He hesitated for a few seconds, then he said " I don't know." I knew he was stalling my question but it seemed like it was because he didn't know. He led me to a little campsite in the middle of the flower bed. The crackling fire made me wince, I focused on the blue tent. Someone emerged and groaned "why do you keep bringing people to our secret campsite Dan? Respect the rules man!" She rubbed her eyes as Dan responded " I had no choice, we got chased in the woods by that demon that got locked up ages ago." the girl yawned and looked at me for a second, her eyes widened when she saw my eye. She peered over curiously. I quickly covered it before she got a second glimpse. "Are you in charge of special cases now?" She bantered, they started whispering something I didn't understand. "We know" dan started

The girl interrupted "he knows", Dan kinda punched her shoulder and turned to me,"there is a place you can stay. It's a school for those with magic and there are dorms so you don't need to come back here, you could learn to control your powers which you do have. I'm NOT crazy! And make friends, or..." he looked at the demon. I knew what I wanted. "I'll take the school, it sounds nicer than staying here." Dan nodded "ok I can teleport you there. They have a welcoming committee, finding a member shouldn't be too hard since they greet literally anyone!" here take this," he handed me a small badge with a wolf. "Show it to only welcoming committee members, okay?"

"They will take you to the principal's office and explain everything except the demon." He also gave me a bag, obviously loaded with things too heavy to carry around daily. I got confused so I asked "why aren't you coming?" He looks at the demon and quietly says "got some business to take care of." with that a flash of color filled my vision. I saw the most majestic shades of blues and purple with reds and yellows. Then I landed on my feet without searing pain cutting into me, I noticed my burns were gone. "Huh" I breathed. I looked up and saw a school the size of a town. Then I saw a girl with lovely light brown hair wearing a flower crown and had massive pink butterfly wings. "Hey, I'm daisy! You seem like you just got here. Ohhh you're a new student I bet! I can see you're in awe of the size of the school! Well, if you just got here I can show you around! I'm part of the welcoming committee so it is my job to stand outside and wait for new students to teleport here for the first day of school, which is suuuuper boring because they never want to stop and talk!" she ranted. Before she could continue, I asked, "can I see the principal?" I remembered the badge and showed it to her hesitantly. "Oooooh! That's so cool! You got a special badge. No idea what it does, but you can come along with me! I know the school can seem overwhelming but it's pretty cozy and you get used to the fact it's... well... a castle of massive proportions! Okay, follow me!" she flew a few feet in the air as she opened the massive doors. I peered in and I felt my eyes widen in pure awe of the inside, I took a deep breath and stepped inside...
