I grabbed my schedule quickly since being late was a high probability because this place was just way too big. I sighed, exasperated as I went to history of magic 101, which was on the other SIDE OF THE SCHOOL! The rest of the day should be interesting. I thought to myself as I wandered the massive halls. A bunch of other kids were also walking about the place. The halls weren't full by the least but it still felt stuffy and crowded. I squirmed out of any groups quickly and nervously looked around. As I was looking to my right I knocked into something. I stumbled back quickly and almost fell backwards. I turned my gaze at who I bumped into. In front of me was the girl from protection magic 101, the girl with green eyes and brown hair. "I am SO sorry!" She fussed covering her face with her hand. "No no! It's okay! I wasn't watching where I was going!" I responded quickly, not wanting to upset her. "It's okay I didn't mean to bump into you either." The girl assured me. "I'm Miriam by the way" she said, extending her hand to mine. I shook it and replied "I'm Lisa." as Miriam listened, she smiled "that's a beautiful name!" I can't help but smile at the fact she complimented me so nicely. Miriam laughs as we exchange stories while walking to class. "Miriam, I see you've made a friend as lowly as you!" A snobby voice says dryly. Miriam turns around, I follow her lead. Before us is a boy with slicked back, golden blonde hair with crystal blue eyes as sharp as knives. His red cloak is lined with gold and his snobby voice fits him. "I must say, I didn't expect someone even more downgraded then you Miriam! I thought nobody could achieve that! But peasants don't set the bar high." He cackled. I felt something dark and horrible stir inside me, something that could shrivel him like fall leaves. Something boiling and bubbling, something cold, but burning bright. "The poverty here is astounding. I must say, honestly who let's you filthy animals in this school! Are the standards lowered so much that even you're welcomed!?" This boy snapped. Miriam had a dark glare as she said "stop it Richard before that tongue of yours gets you in trouble." Richard laughed and again said "what are you gonna do? Cry about it?" He teased her. I felt all of the emotions swirling inside of me, this boy could burn. This boy would burn. NO, what am I thinking, I asked myself. I stared at Richard's smug look and Miriam. She was a friend, I never got a chance to have friends, but hurting him wasn't the answer. "How about you leave her alone!" I shot at Richard "or are you afraid your hair might be ruined!?" I yell at him. He looked angry at me, his cheeks flushed red. Storming off, Richard is gone, Miriam hugs me tightly. "Thank you, my cousin is a big bully and standing up to him was the best." I didn't know how to react. I waited for her to pull away before telling her "of course! I can't just stand by and watch that bully hurt you!" I told her, but what she said coursed through my mind like a hurricane, cousin? "That guy is related to you!?" I asked her in disbelief. She was so nice, and he was so mean! Also they looked nothing alike! "It's pretty hard to believe when you see how different we are. Sometimes it feels like we were born on different planets." Miriam sighed. I patted her on the back comfortingly. "Well it's good you're nothing like him!" I told her softly. "But he's popular, and people think he's... handsome" she sighed sadly. I gagged as she said handsome, which earned me a happy smile. "We got detoured long enough, I'll see you after class by the statue!" She called as she walked away. I started sprinting at top speeds, letting the anger fueled by Richard push me to new lengths. I always ran faster when I had negative emotions because they pushed me. I started gasping for air as I reached the class. The entire class went without any problems except one kid who fell asleep. The teacher who seemed to be a history buff was so upset, she made him recite her entire lecture and she sharply interrupted when he messed up. By the end he was wide awake while I thought it went like a breeze. Apparently I had no more classes since day 1 was to be easygoing. I sighed in relief and went to my dorm. Opening the door and lying down on the lower bunk felt good. The bed didn't cause a storm of dust to swirl around and the sheets were comfy while the mattress felt firm and soft. I started to drift back when I was in the village.

It was a normal day...

I laughed happily as I ran around the house. I was alone since my parents were away for the rest of the day. I was told that I could go outside, my mom strongly disagreed but my dad got his way. I looked at the door and thought for a bit. A small little 7 year old nobody cares about playing in the front yard? Nobody would mind! I opened the door and carefully closed it behind me. Outside I noticed a young boy, maybe my age, poking through the grass. He clearly wasn't around here because kids wouldn't go outside in the front yard. I skip over to him and ask him with wide eyes "what are you doing?" He kinda stumbles back in surprise but gets back up quickly. "I was putting down a ladybug," he replied, looking down at the ground carefully. "But it's already gone." He finished. "Do you wanna go play!?" I asked him, hoping he wouldn't say no. "Okay!" He says happily. We ran around the front yard playing tag. We both collapsed in exhaustion after falling into a fit of giggles and laughs. My ribs hurt from laughing and I gasped for breath as we lay down in the grass. "No other kids wanted to play and this was really fun!" I exclaim. He gets up and looks at me weirdly "why don't the other kids want to play with you?" He asks me curiously. Without a thought I lift my hair and show him my eye. "Woah, that's so cool! I wish I had that color of eyes!" He says, staring at me with awe. "All of the other kids think I'm weird." I say sadly. The boy stands up and announces with a prideful look "then they are stupid!"

I giggle as he says that and we play some more. Eventually he goes away to his father. I wave him goodbye. I can see some of my bullies talk to him and laugh with them, I think nothing of it since he's just having fun. I just smile when I clear my bed of dust. I laugh while coughing through the whirlwind of dust that picked up. I get in bed and sleep without trouble or nightmares.

I get up from my bed as the memory flashes through my mind. Weak, the thought slivered though my head like a snake as cold as ice. I jumped up in surprise, even though it's just me, I asked aloud "what do you mean?" You never fought back, weak. "My name is not weak!" I cried out to nobody. You are weak, but that is not your name, for now... the voice said ominously. "W-what do you mean?" I stuttered. I will teach you how to be strong, if you embrace it. " You can't make me more powerful! You're only in my head!" I tell the voice. A chuckle resounds through my head, chilling and rattling my bones. I am not you, you are not me. It is simple that I have merely clung to you until my time is ready. "What do you mean clung? And what time?" I ask the voice I know you are not ready to know, and I don't doubt a bit you will resist. So my solution is this. As the words entered my brain, my entire body stopped. I fell to the floor, letting gravity take over. I then got back up, as my body moved I stayed silent in horror. My body moved without me. I took out my want and closely examined it while pulling back my hair. I couldn't talk, I couldn't move. I wasn't in control. Every little movement felt like nails being hammered into my skin. I felt my eyes brim with tears until the pain and movement froze. I quickly sat down and covered my eye with hair. That is not even a bit of my power, this little demonstration is to show you to not screw up my plan.

I slowly nod, wiping away my tears and saying "alright." Seeming satisfied. The voice softened until I couldn't hear it anymore. I settled myself down and put down my wand on the nightstand. As I regained composure the door to my dorm slammed open.
