Over the years Izuku has had his fair share of injuries. Broken bones? At least three in the past five years. Dislocated joints? At this point he is an expert in relocating his bones. Burns, bruises, and scrapes? Oh yeah, all the time. Despite all this, he definitely feels extra bad this morning. He couldn't recall a reason why though. It was a lot harder for bullies to hurt him when he was in orbit thousands of miles above them. There were still some up here but less bullies meant less injuries and less people to run from. Of course, he was still isolated, but isolated was better than injured in his opinion.
Given the fact that bullies can't do as much to hurt him, why does his body hurt so much? And why is it so cold and uncomfortable? Suddenly the memories of earlier - yesterday maybe - rush back to him. The field trip had been attacked by some sort of alien creature! They had used something and knocked him out before he could get to safety. So where was he now?
At a glance it was obvious he was in a cell of some sort. He could see a variety of different creatures through the bars of his cell, most in cells themselves. Looking around his cell he saw that he had company. At first he thought it was just one other creature, but then he saw another creature stick its head out from behind the other.
The first creature was about six feet tall and had a coat of thick black fur. At first glance it looked like a big cat, similar to a panther, standing on its hind legs. The main differences were the fact that this creature has two tails and five eyes. Izuku could tell that this was a creature you didn't want to anger if you valued your life.
The other creature was much smaller, about half the size of the cat-like being. Its red eyes were staring into his soul, but it seemed oddly friendly. Its body, what he could see of it anyway, was small and fluffy, but a different kind of fluff than the cat-creature. It looked like there were vines growing on the little horn that was on the small creature's forehead.
Neither of them had attacked him yet so he turned back to the cell door. The guards seemed to be comprised of two species. One seemed to be only female and always had this confidence and swagger to their walk, they looked similar to the ones that had crashed his field trip so he assumed they were the same species. The other was a bulky species with multiple arms? Limbs? Izuku didn't really know, but they definitely looked strong.
As he was observing the guards he heard some noise start-up on the other side of the cell. He didn't really know how to describe it other than a mix of chittering, chirps, and other gibberish.
"Usd lo mkbopev. Drad'c k Nokdrgybvnob," The cat-like creature says to the little one.
"K Nokdrgybvnob?"
Well at least he could tell when questions were asked, that's a pro. Too bad he couldn't understand any of this. Humans knew next to nothing about the life of extraterrestrial creatures. So while it seems like they have a common language he knows none of it. Maybe he could learn it by listening to them like how babies learn to speak. It would definitely be difficult but he had nothing better to do.
After a few hours guards started coming around with carts. It didn't take a genius to figure out it was mealtime. The guards opened the door before sliding three bowls and bottles into the room. In the bottles was water, or at least something similar to water so Izuku took one of them. Next he investigated the bowls. The substance in them looked like a mix of cream of wheat and oatmeal, but grey. Not very appealing. As he took one up to his face to eat it he caught a whiff of its scent. It had a strong metallic smell that made him gag, so he put the 'food' down and retreated to the corner with his water.
The cat-like alien quickly made its way over and grabbed the food and water given for it and the small creature. The whole time it kept at least two of its eyes on Izuku, as if it expected him to attack.
"A'zawa gri nsn sd xyd dkuo kxi pyyn?" The little one asks.
'A'zawa?' That sounds like a name.
"S nyx'd uxyg usd," the bigger one responds, its eyes still trained on Izuku.
As the days went on he slowly pieced together bits and pieces of their language and mapped out the guard's schedules. Once he was confident he knew their schedule he started making escape plans. When he knew he would have time he reached out to feel the lock. Its shape was awkward as if it was shaped to make it difficult to grab, but it was clear that while other species would be unable you yank it open they obviously hadn't human-proofed it. He was sure he'd be able to break it open. All that he had to do now was communicate his plan to his cellmates. He had learned that their names were A'zawa and Eri, but that's about everything he learned.
Before he could start brainstorming what to do next he heard the clopping footsteps of the bulky guards. This isn't part of their schedule. There should be at least another hour until the guards' patrol around his cell again. Izuku quickly rushes back to his corner and turns around just in time to see the guards stop outside his cell. In their arms is a large bird-like creature with a mix of yellow and black feathers. It - he? - is struggling and trying to free itself from the guards' hold, and there is a massive muzzle clamped on its face.
The cell door is opened and the creature is thrown into the cell. It lands close to Izuku and lays there, winded. The guards lock the door and leave, saying nothing to the prisoners.
"Hi'ashi?" A'zawa asks, hesitant. His voice instantly gains him the full attention of the bird-like creature, Hi'ashi. "Hi'ashi I xoon iye to mywo to wo, cvygvi." Hi'ashi slowly makes his way over to A'zawa. Once he gets there A'zawa carefully takes the muzzle off him.
"Gri did I xoon to mywo yfob robo cvygvi?" Hi'ashi asks.
"Hi'ashi vyyu lorsxn iye."
"A'zawa grkd is drkd?"
"Drkd'c a Nokdrgybvnob. We kbo in a movv gsdr a Nokdrgybvnob"
"Yr, Yr crsd"
