Denver's POV.

"There's no used in yelling in that personnel, they can't give us two rooms now because it's fully booked but at least we have one." I tried to calm her for she was panicking and people around were staring at her. "We need to share that room for just 12 hours only before our next flight and I assured you I won't do anything stupid if that's what you think," I added just to convince her. She gave me a dismayed look and together we headed to the room without any words.

Rain's POV.

"I will use the bed, you sleep on the couch," I demanded when I saw him going to the bed straight ahead. It's my first time being with a guy inside a room and the worst thing is he's a stranger. He didn't react then he slowly moves and walked away and lay down on the couch as I commanded. I put my things in the bed and went to the restroom to change my clothes and when I went out I saw him holding a glass of wine.

"Where do you get it?" I asked him sarcastically.

"Care to have a drink?" he lifted his glass with a smile but I told him I don't want to with a sharp look.

"I saw it in the fridge; I think it's their compliments. By the way, I'm Denver and you are?" He asked me without even bothering about my attitude.

"Rain," I answered flatly while locating my phone in the bag but can't find it.

"Your phone is in your coat," he pointed to it while having his second glass. I didn't say thanks and dialed my Aunt's number. After telling her I couldn't come home to Macau as planned, I turned off my phone with an exhausted face.

Denver's POV.

"If I were you, I will sit here and grab some wine," I told her to break her anxiety. "I know you're dismayed as I am but it doesn't mean we can never have some fun for a short time." I lift the glass to her and for a second thought, she walked slowly in my direction and sits on the couch next to me while she grabs the glass and slowly drinks the wine.

"It's that gauche driver's fault; I should be on that plane if he is not too clumsy and hit that truck, maybe I would be at the airport in no time." She started complaining again even though it was too late for all her demands. I just listened to her and looked at her as she continued drinking her wine. I saw her nice white teeth like a diamond. She continued blabbing about the incident she experienced while I stayed quiet looking at her beauty. She didn't notice and maybe she doesn't care. She has brown long hair that's just right for her white complexion and the way she acted like a kid earlier, was so cute.

"Just be thankful that you are safe and it didn't cause you an injury because if that happens, your family will be worried," I calmed her again and she looked at me this time. We locked eyes and stare at each other then I smiled at her and she smiled back at me but it suddenly fades.

"It's new year tomorrow and it's my mom's birthday and every time the clock strikes at midnight, I am the only one who greeted her so early and gave her my present. Now on her 68th birthday, I'm going to give her my embroidered handkerchief as a gift but sadly I can't come on time and she will be expecting me for sure." She drank the last part of her wine after telling me about it then she hand the glass to me asking me to give her more.

"Why not call her later and greet her? At least you will be the first person again to do that even without your presence and that is more important." I told her while pouring wine into her glass. "I know she'll understand," I added.

"What more can I do? I think that's the best idea." She said thanks to me. "You know my second reason why I yelled at that person who gave us only one room is that the truth is I am not comfortable being with someone else inside the room especially a stranger like you, no offense." She added and I just smiled at her.

"But I am not a stranger anymore, I just introduced myself to you lately and I told you I won't do anything stupid, I promised." I saw her little smile while twisting her legs on the couch.

"You're still a stranger to me but at least I got someone to talk to. I just want to say sorry for being rude." I saw her angry face like a lioness earlier but now she looked like a cute puppy wanting to be touched.

"You're so beautiful." I don't know why I blurted that out and now there's no use in changing that words. She laughed at me; the distance between us is only a meter so I can see her blushed cheek. "I...I mean..." I stammered while biting my tongue. "...I mean you're beautiful when you smile...no, no, what I mean is it's alright, you're not that rude, 'ya know." I gulped all the wine in my glass. I can feel that she was looking at me and it makes me tremble. I wanted to ask about her personal life like if she's dating someone or if she's married but I can't find the right word to start. I don't want her to think that I took advantage of this situation and I don't want her to get mad at me. If only you saw the way she looked when she's angry, it's terrible. So I think I'll just play it safe and just go with the flow.

Rain's POV.

"Are you married?" I asked him without thinking anything, I saw the way he looked at me and I think maybe he was flirting so if I am right, I should know about his personal life.

"Are you deaf?" I told him after noticing that he didn't respond.

"Wh-what?" He stuttered a second with a shock at my question. I asked him again and this time he answered me abruptly.

"Yeah and I don't have a girlfriend, I'm so busy with my work that I don't have enough time to date girls, I supposed, how about you?"

"I dated and meet guys before but there's nothing more of it. In short, I don't like them, I think they're jerks." We both laughed while he poured the last part of the wine into my glass. "Cheers!"

"I think we need to have another bottle, you like it?" I asked him and he says, "Sure, but this is the only one in the fridge. I should go downstairs and buy a bottle of wine," he added but I told him that we can call the receptionist and ask for it. I walked towards the table and grab the telephone but when I was just about to return to my seat, I fainted and lose control of myself but he suddenly runs in my way and holds me so tight.

"Oh, you're drunk already, are you okay?" He slowly carried me back to the couch while I looked at his worried face. Now I can watch him closer than earlier and all I can say is he's quite charming and seductive in another way.

"I'm okay but maybe I'm drunk, that's why I almost fell, thanks to you it didn't happen," I assured him and he begins to smile. Suddenly I feel hot like someone was going to explode while my body trembled as I saw how he looked at me this close.

"Let's not buy another bottle of wine so you can rest, okay." He told me while arranging the pillow on my back. I can smell his perfume and it was good, then I told him, "Thanks". He was about to say, "You're welcome" but he stopped for a second, and this time our faces are only an inch away from each other. I can smell his breath on my face like a summer breeze. Without any words, he kissed me and I don't know why I kissed him back but it was not that long. I pulled myself first but we both smiled at what just happened and together we said our goodnights as we lay down in our separate spaces to rest. I called my mom at midnight and greeted her as I explained what happened and why I can't come home early.

We boarded the plane together in the morning but we were seated differently as I imagined what happened last night at the hotel. We exchanged numbers before we came here at the airport and I was hoping that maybe last night will not be our last together.
