so Sasha gets to live for now I guess)

Marcy learned her head on Sasha's shoulder as they walked through the abandoned streets. After the invasion scare, most people were hiding away in their houses. Scraps of robot littered the roads, wrecked cars were pushed to the side, probably by robots as they moved through the city.
Anne walked behind them, deep in thought.

"Guys, let's stop by my parents house first. I wanna.. Give them an update I guess? On what happened. " Anne said.

"Are you gonna tell them that you basically.. Died? " Sasha asked.

"I dunno. It depends if they specifically ask how we saved amphibia. " Anne shrugged.

Marcy nodded, following Anne down the familiar path to her house. Anne knocked on the door, waited for a few seconds, then the door was thrown open, is if her mother had been anxiously waiting- which it's likely she had been.

"You're ok! " Mrs Boonchuy sobbed, throwing her arms around Anne.

"Hi, Mom. " Anne said shyly, hugging her mom.

"You're all ok! " Mrs. Boonchuy exclaimed, pulling Sasha and Marcy into the hug.

"Hi, Mrs. B. " Marcy squeaked.

"Oh you poor things. Come inside, you're probably starving. What happened? Are the frogs ok? "

"Yeah, Mom. The frogs are ok. We.. A lot happened. I'll explain later. "

Mr Boonchuy was on the couch, several cups of coffee on the coffee table near him but they had clearly failed to keep him awake as he now snored peacefully.

Anne smiled a bit, walking over to her dad and poking him gently on the face. He started awake, looked around confusedly, saw Anne, and grabbed her in a hug.

Mrs Boonchuy heated up leftovers carrying in plates and handing them to each of the girls.

"Oh, I can't-" Marcy protested, not wanting to bother the Boonchuys.

"No offense. But you girls look terrible, you look hungry, and when is the last time you guys slept? The least you can do for my peace of mind is get a good meal into you. " Mrs Boonchuy said gently.

Marcy had no idea when she had last eaten. Or slept. She didn't even know how long the core had been in control of her. Or how long she had been unconscious after being stabbed.

All three girls ate the food, though they all clearly had a lot on their minds. After they had eaten most of it, Mrs Boonchuy dropped the obvious question.

"What happened in Amphibia? It's been less than a day since we've seen you but you look so tired and sad. You three are too young for this. "

"A lot. A lot happened. Not just yesterday. I didn't tell you everything the first time I came back, but you deserve the truth. " Anne said.

So Anne explained. She explained what really happened the day she first returned to earth. Sasha and Marcy stared at the floor the whole time, knowing they technically were responsible for most of her pain that day. Sasha squeezed Marcy's hand as Anne broke off at the fire sword part.

Then Anne explained coming back to Amphibia. Not knowing where Marcy was. Rekindling her friendship with Sasha. Preparing for a battle. Olms, prophecies, memories, fighting, training.

She described going back to Andrias's castle. Being met with the horrifying sight of Darcy. Escaping the castle.

She only briefly described the invasion, because her parents had been present for that. Then Sasha started to tell the story of her fight with Darcy. When she got to the part about Grime, she realized Marcy wasn't aware she was responsible for it.

"I- I did that? " Marcy asked shakily, covering her mouth as she was overcome with a wave of nausea.

"No." Sasha said firmly, "It wasn't really you. It's not your fault. "

"It was me though.. " Marcy said, putting her head in her hands.

Sasha wrapped her arm around Marcy, "Some more fighting happened. I cut the cord that attached to the helmet. Darcy yelled at me but lost power and Marcy woke up. " Sasha summarized the fight as best she could.

Marcy leaned into Sasha, mostly zoning out while Anne and Sasha took turns explaining the rest of their story.

"So then I took the stones. And I used the powers. And... Sprig pulled me down. I don't really know how to explain it.. We got down. I was broken and faded. And I guess I kinda crumbled away? But I had this weird dream, a God I guess. Told me that I still had some life to live. " Anne explained.

Her parents looked mortified. She had died. All their worrying wasn't for nothing. She almost didn't come back home.

"But I'm fine now! I swear!" Anne defended.

She quickly finished explaining how they had gotten back without the original gems, not wanting to linger on the pain of never returning to Amphibia.

Marcy looked up, realizing her parents were also probably worried about her.

"I should probably get going. My parents are probably worried about me too. " Marcy said.

"About that. " Mrs Boonchuy said, her face dropping, "I called your parents dozens of times. They didn't ever answer me, so I drove by your house. It.. was sold.. "

Marcy froze, "Oh."

Her parents left her. They didn't care enough about her to stay. They didn't believe she'd come back. Maybe they were grateful for the opportunity to leave her behind.

Marcy put her face back into her hands, trying to think properly. She had nowhere to go. Her parents left her behind. She didn't even know where they had moved to.

"Hey. Marce. Look at me. " Sasha said, putting a hand on Marcy's shoulder.

Marcy looked up, her eyes shiny with tears.

"You can stay with me. My parents won't care. We've got plenty of room. Just breathe." Sasha said calmly.

Marcy nodded, taking a shaky breath in. She trusted Sasha, sure, but it was still difficult to believe she'd be ok.
