"Y-You're back! " Sasha said breathlessly, throwing her arms around Anne.
The days without Marcy had been... difficult, to say the least. Panic for what was happening to Marcy and Sasha blaming herself were for Marcy getting captured were two consistent things that weighed in the air in the resistance.
Everyone in the resistance knew Marcy. The sweet girl who made a mistake and still blamed herself for things she couldn't have prevented. The girl who could give you a pep talk and talk battle strategy in a span of 5 minutes. She clearly zoned out sometimes, but it was endearing. The sweetest girl Amphibia had ever seen, who needed Sasha as much as Sasha needed her. The girl who Andrias had again, she might be dead.
The resistance hadn't been the same since Marcy was captured. Maybe Anne finally showing up might change that.
"Sasha! You're here! And in Wartwood? " Anne gasped.
"Come with me, I'll explain everything. " Sasha said.
Anne started to walk alongside Sasha, but one thing had clearly been on her mind, "Do you know if Marcy is alive? "
Sasha froze, looking at Anne as her eyes filled with tears. (A/N Kinda like the look in the owl house when something bad is finally over and Luz faces the screen and her eyes fill with tears)
"She isn't?!-" Anne panicked.
"No! She- I- Me and Grime. We escaped the castle right after you warped away. I managed to save Marcy. She almost didn't make it, but Maddie saved her in time. She was unconscious for a few weeks, but Marcy woke up. Then-" Sasha choked a bit.
Anne put her hands over her mouth, silently urging Sasha to finish.
"It was all Andrias! She was recovering well and his robots got to her and flew off with her- I don't know if she's ok! Yunan said he needs her for something, so she's probably still alive, but I'm so scared for her! I'm so sorry, Anne, I should have done a better job at protecting her! " Sasha broke off and wiped away the tears falling freely down her face.
"Did you tell her you weren't mad at her? Did you tell her I wouldn't be mad at her? She probably blames herself for all of this, she might even tell herself she deserves it!" Anne said seriously.
"I- I told her all the time that it wasn't her fault. " Sasha said shakily, "And I made sure to tell her that no one, especially you, would be mad at her. "
"She doesn't deserve any of this. We took her for granted. We never listened to her interests, we were terrible friends. " Anne said quietly.
"I know. " Sasha murmured.
"But we will save her! How's Wartwood doing? They're helping you fight back right?" Anne said, assuming from what she knew about the town she had grown to love.
"Yeah. You've already seen Croaker and Loggle. We've all been doing our best to rebel against Andrias. No one has really been the same since Marcy has been gone, but I think with you here, their spirits will be raised. I think we'll stand a fighting chance. "
