🔫 Kaden's POV 🔫

"BENNY! BRAKE!" Jaxx screamed. I immediately looked up from my phone and watched as Ella's car began to get unusually close.

Benny turned left, sending us off the road and into the surrounding woods. We slammed into a tree, my seatbelt saving my face from the drivers seat.

I sat unbelievably still, my chest heaving as I began to process what the fuck just happened. Max was in the middle seat, seemingly unharmed.

I looked up to shotgun when I saw it. Jaxx's corner of the car had been crushed by the thick oak tree we had crashed into. He wasn't moving.

"...Jaxx?" I whispered, catching Max and Benny's attention.

"JAXX!" Max screamed, attempting to shake them. The corpse didn't move as it was crushed by the cars metal.

"Fuck!" Landon squeaked.

"Landon, are you okay?" Benny asked, turning in their seat.

"My legs, I can't feel my legs!" He cried, frantically moving his arms. Blood trickled down his forehead and into his lap, causing me to look down at his legs. They had been completely flattened under the seat in front of him.

"Hey, you're gonna be okay. I promise." I said, attempting to reassure him.

"Im scared, guys." He whispered. I'd never seen him so vulnerable before.

"Benny, we need to help him. His legs were crushed by Jaxx's seat." Max ordered.

I opened the door and got out of the car, Max followed close behind. Benny met us on the other side of the car as we tried to figure out how to get him out.

"We can't move him, that could hurt him worse." Benny pointed out.

"We still don't have service." I stated.

"He's fucked." Max said, running his hand through his hair.

"I think there may be a gas station the opposite way. Probably within walking distance of the cabin." I mentioned. I'd been here on vacation with Benny's family several times, but only I knew about the gas station. I'd completely forgotten about it until now.

"A gas station?" Benny questioned.

"Yeah, they have a pay phone so that may work better than ours." I informed.

"So... are we just gonna leave him here?" Max muttered.

I peered into the window at Landon, who now seemed to be asleep. Unless...

I quickly tried to pull open the door, but it was stuck. I ran for the other door and crawled into the backseat to check Landon's pulse.

I slowly pulled my hand away, using it to cover my mouth. I began to sob in the backseat, mourning the loss of my two friends.

"...guess we don't have to worry about him anymore." Benny muttered.

"Dude, what the fuck." Max hissed, looking at Benny with disgust.

"I didn't mean it like that and you know it." Benny responded, walking away.

I got out of Benny's car and observed Ella's crash. The top of the car was entirely flat, like it never existed in the first place. As I looked down the road back towards the cabin, I noted something slumped in the middle of the road. Evan.

As I was just about to walk up to Ella's car, Max violently grabbed my shoulder and dragged me down to the ground.

"BENNY, GET DOWN!"
