Someone knocked on my door at dawn. I was almost worried about meeting someone new, but upon opening it, I found only Anne.

I would have been happy to see her had I not been worrying she was only here to tell me Lord Sinclair now wished to dine together during breakfast.

"Would the Lady care to explore the gardens?"

I had heard of the Sinclair gardens. They were about as well known as Lord Sinclair himself.

Though, as the rumours say, the purpose of the gardens was to woo both noblewomen and peasant girls. Lord Sinclair didn't discriminate with the women he bedded.

I declined Anne's invitation.

I wouldn't be able to see well enough through my veils to appreciate the flowers' beauty anyway.

Perhaps I could visit during the night. After everyone has fallen asleep. Maybe I could walk through the darkened halls without my veil.

I won't get caught, surely.
