Oct 30th,1984

I woke up to El standing over me.

"Holy shit, El! You can't just stand over someone sleeping like that!" I shouted while I sat up.
"Hopper told me to wake you" she explained as she sat down on my bed.
"Oh thanks" I told her.

She left my room, so I could change.

I changed then did my hair.

"Jen, come eat!" My dad yelled from the kitchen.

I walked out to the kitchen and sat at the table.

"I made pancakes and eggs." My dad revealed as he put some eggs on my plate.
"Thanks" El and I both responded.
"Don't you have a math quiz today?" Dad asked as he took his seat.
"Yea" I answered.
"Did you study?" He wondered as I took a bite of my pancake.
"A bit" I let him know.

The three of us chatted more until it was time for school.

I got up and washed off my plate.

I walked over to the door and put my shoes and coat on.

"Bye" I said as I was out the door.

I got on my bike and rode to school.

I saw a black cat on my way there.

I made it to school. I put my bike on the bike rack.

I saw my friends and walked up to them.

"Hey, guys" I greeted them while we started walking in the school.
"Hi, Jen" Mike responded.
"Did you guys find out who MADMAX is?" I asked them.
"Not yet" Dustin replied as Will and I walked away to our lockers.

Our lockers are right next to each other.

I got my science textbook out because that's my first class.

I shut my locker and saw a note in Wills hand. I read it.

"The boy that came back to life" it was a piece of the newspaper, but someone wrote over it "Zombie Boy" and he had X's over his eyes.

" Ignore it, Will, They don't know what you went through." I reminded him as he crumbled it.
"It's fine, I'm fine" Will let me know, but when your friends with someone as long as I have been with Will you know when stuff hurts them, and this did.

The bell rang and we walked to science class with the rest of the party.

It was the same boring science I had to go to every day. I sat behind Will. I was doodling in my textbook. Mr Clarke was going on about the human brain, he even had a fake one.

"Meet the human brain. I know. I know, it doesn't look like much. A little gross even, right? But consider this. There are a hundred billion cells inside of this miracle of evolution.
All working as one. No, no, I did not misspeak. I did not stutter. A hundred billion." Mr.Clarke went on, making my friends look at each other in shock, but I didn't really care.

He got interrupted by the principal coming in with a girl. This girl had wavy orange hair, blue eyes, and freckles. She was wearing a red coat with jeans, and green vans.

"Ah, this must be our new student." Mr. Clarke beamed as all eyes where suddenly on her.
"Indeed. All yours." The principal advised as she tried to go sit down.
"All right. Hold up. You don't get away that easy.Come on up.Don't be shy.Dustin, drum roll." Mr Clarke told her. Dustin closed his textbook and did a drumroll on it.
"Class, please welcome, all the way from sunny California, the latest passenger to join us on our curiosity voyage, Maxine." Mr Clarke introduce as her and I made eye contact for a second.
"It's Max." She corrected and suddenly I knew she was MADMAX.
"Sorry?"
"Nobody calls me Maxine. It's Max." She explained to Mr. Clarke.
"Mad Max." Lucas whispered to the four of us.
"Well, all aboard, Max." Mr. Clarke replied as she took her seat in the back row. She crossed her arms as she sat down.
