Volunteering at the rhyhorns

Ash's pov
"Serena!"
"What is it?" She says as she approaches me
"Is that a Rhyhorn?!" I point out to a small house with a sleeping rhyhorn in
"Well duh. Mom is a rhyhorn racer" she says
"Sorry it's just so cool, so you have any other Pokémon around the house?"
"Well... we do have a fletchling" Serena answers
"Can I see it!!!!"

"You know ash.. you can be really childish sometimes" she shrugs as she walks over to the bed and sits down
"Not much at all has changed with you since we met last time" she says
"Is that bad or good....?"
"Hmm both."
"Why's that?"
"I mean.. I loved your personality back then, that hasn't changed much but it's good. But you're still childish and dense. Just as you were before" she explains

"Why does everyone say that I'm dense? Even Bonnie said that"
"Well yes you are"
"Not anymore"
"Kinda" she huffs

A fletchling comes flying into the open window and land on my arm
"So this is the fletchling?"
"Yep" she answers
"Just... Uhh be careful so you don't sleep too much in the morning"
"Probably gonna happen anyway and you can't stop me"
"Fletchling can"
I wonder what she meant with that
A little fletchling can't really hurt me, right?

-the next day-

Serena's pov 
I wake up and greet Rhyhorn as usual, then I walk downstairs
"Good morning mom"
"Good morning serena, is ash up yet?"
"Probably not"
Mom looks at fletchling and nod towards it "you know what to do"
Fletchling nods and fly away.
Oh no, well it is his own fault, I told him not to sleep in.
"OUCH!!!" Ash screams
He immediately runs downstairs and shout "FLETCHLING ATTACKED ME"
"That's what you get when you sleep in" mom says

"Anyways im going to be away for a while, they needed some extra help with the rhyhorn race in Santalune city" mom says as she makes us some breakfast
Finally! I get some alone time with ash

"By the way serena, do you remember what you were supposed to do later today?" Mom says
"No...?"
"Of course you forgot. You agreed a week ago that you would volunteer to help the kids at the rhyhon stable nearby. You can bring ash with you too"
I facepalm myself and groan
I totally forgot about that

Some time later me and ash were sitting outside and taking
"I'm sorry"
"Sorry for what?" Ash says
"For my mom, you know the fletchling and the kids"
"No it's okay, being pecked by fletchling is probably better than being Thunderbolted by pikachu anyway" he shrugs and I laugh

"Wait, kids can ride rhyhorns?" He asks
"Some can, if they're skilled enough, but most of them usually rides on skiddos"

"Oh right, I remember that" he says
"There's still an hour until we need to be there, so what do we do until then?"
He starts to think and says "I don't know, just sit here?"
I can do anything as long as I am with you. But I don't say that, I just answer with an "Okay"

We sit there and talk about stuff that happened while we were on our own adventures
Lilligant pops out of her pokeball and starts walking around in the grass
I look at her as she walks towards the forest nearby

"Where are you going lilligant?" I shout after her
"It's said that the flower on lilligants head blooms easier when they are in the wild" ash says while thinking
I reach for my Pokédex and open Lilligants entry

'It's well liked by other Pokémon because of its beauty. The flower on its head needs constant care, or it will soon wither and rot.
No matter how much time and money is spent raising it, its flowers are the most beautiful when they bloom in the wild.'

Oh I didn't know that I had to take care of lilligants flower..
maybe that's why it heading towards the forest. To help it's flower to grow beautiful
