"This world ain't exactly what my heart expected." - Sam Smith

It was an average night in Austin (TX), the streets were flooding with rain and hipsters, after all, it was Friday night. I worked late hours at a local bar, it was nice, I got good pay and I got to meet new people.
I didn't only serve beverages or clean tables, I also sang.
I loved singing soft melancholy songs, it also made drunks buy more drinks to drown their sorrows.
So I typically sang Sam smith, he was a good mix of both and lots of the customers liked it.
Tonight it was throwback night, even though it wasn't Thursday, it continued till Friday.
So I decided to sing something with a bit of new and old to it, which was 'Nirvana' by Sam smith, it had never been sung at this bar before so the hipsters would love it and perhaps pour in getting us more money.
I set up my guitar and microphone on stage and brought out a stool, I tapped the mic twice to see if it worked, it did because it let out a huge screech causing everyone to turn their attention towards me.
"Hi," I said nervously, "I'm Sophia, and I'll be performing for you tonight, sorry if I bother."
Here goes nothing
"Oh baby, oh baby, oh we both know the truth if it were the real me and you, this wouldn't be the right thing to do. Now the room is all hazy we're too lost in the fumes, I feel like its just me and you, yeah we've got nothing to lose."
At this point all the people who were soaking wet from the downpour had all entered inside our bar, I didn't like small crowds, it meant I could see their eyes. The hipsters were smiling and giggling with their hands in the air while other customers snapped to the beat.
"It's too late to run away from it all, its to late to get away from it all, I'm tired of running so I give it to you. This moment has caused, a reaction, resulting in a, reattachment, Oh you take me to Nirvana, hold you here in my arms, right where you belong."
As everyone clapped I positioned myself into a more comfortable spot, just as I did that I saw a man come through the door, navy blue jacket, white dress shirt with little anchors on it, plain khakis, and some brown sperrys.
He looked stunning, he also had on black shades that blocked his eyes, his brown hair in a little curl that reminded me of Elvis.
I snapped back to reality and began to sing "Make it to me" by Sam smith, I had never seen him but his voice was magnificent.
After all I had broken up with a dear lover days ago, my heart still ached and I still missed him.
"My mind runs away to you, with that I hope you'll see, can't see where its wandered to, but I know where it wants to be. I'm waiting patiently, though time is moving slow, I have one vacancy, and I wanted you to know that you're the one, designed for me, a distant stranger, that I will complete, I know you're out there, we're meant to be, so keep your head up, and make it to me.."
That man was now buying a drink, he looked interesting, he looked cute,
"So sick of this lonely air, seems such a waste of breath,"
He was now looking at me, he smiled and turned his body towards me, paying full attention which made me more nervous.
"So much that I need to say, so much to get off my chest, I'm waiting patiently though time is moving slow. I have one vacancy, and I wanted you to know that you're the one, designed for me, a distant stranger, that I will complete, I know you're out there we're meant to be, so keep your head up, and make it to me..."
He chuckled and lifted up his sun glasses revealing his beautiful blue eyes, he had on cross earrings like mine. He looked like he was in his 20's as I was.
"And make it to me.., and make it to me."
"Thank you all, goodnight"
Some awed and all clapped, even him, I sat at the bar waiting to consume a beverage, non alcoholic of course. I hadn't noticed that he was sitting next to me. He smiled and said "Nice performance love, what's your name?"
"Sophia, and thank you." I scarcely said, I was nervous. "What's yours?"
He laughed and said "Sam, Sam smith, and those were my songs you just sang."
