Chapter Eight

"Well, well. Isn't this a pleasant surprise" Edgar says as I look over at him. I look back at Ben and I see his eyes trying to switch back as I am yanked away from him by Black Noir, I don't even struggle anymore. He brings me over to Edgar and he smiles at me

"I guess I will have to keep you locked away until that baby comes. The first baby to come from two supes. That really is a miracle" he says as I being pulled away

"Hold on, she aint going nowhere" Butcher says as the rest come up behind him

"She doesn't have a choice" Edgar says as he grabs me and Noir goes to attack them. He starts pulling me away as I look back at Ben

"I love you Soldier Boy" I say as im thrown into a car. It starts to drive when all of a sudden its stopped. Edgar gets out and looks

"No, that's not possible" he says before he is thrown away from the car. I slowly start to get out when I see him

"Soldier Boy" I say as he reaches for me. He pulls me out and hugs me tight

"I'm so sorry" he says in my ear and I just hold him and cry. Homelander comes over

"How sweet" he says as Ben pulls back and turns toward him

"Hey, Soldier Boy" Marvin yells as he tosses him his shield. Ben catches it and throws Homelander away. Black Noir comes over as they start to fight when Ben knocks him down and bashes his head in until hes dead. He gets up and comes back over to me and I go to hug him hard. Out of nowhere Ben is hit and thrown the other direction. I look over and its Homelander and his eyes are glowing red

"Now, lets finish this" he says walking to me. I stand my ground as he is right in front of me. He goes to hit me as I dodge it and grab his face. He starts yelling as he is trying to push me away but losing strength fast when Ben comes over and hits him hard throwing him into a wall and hes knocked out cold. I look back at Ben and smile a little when I collapse and everything goes black.

I wake up and im back at Mallorys. I look up and see Ben sitting next to me, sleeping and I smile a little. I reach out to touch him and he jolts awake

"Ritchie?" he asks as he grabs my hand and I smile

"How are you feeling?" he asks as he moves to my bed to sit next to me.

"I'm ok" I say with a smile and he leans down to kiss me. We hear the door open and its Mallory

"Good, your awake. I have to talk to you about something" she says coming in

"Nice to see you too." I say a little upset

"Im sorry, I'm glad your ok, but this is important. You have to be careful now on how much you use your powers. With you being pregnant, you will drain your energy a lot faster since the baby is growing." She says sitting down

"What does that mean?" I ask

"Right now, you are sharing your power with your baby, the more you use it the faster your energy goes down, meaning, you use to much and you die" she says as I gasp and look over at Ben. He looks at her

"I wont let that happen" he says and she nods.

"We just need to make sure she behaves herself" she says as she walks out the door. He looks back at me and touches my face

"I'm sorry about everything" he says upset. I lean into his touch

"I am too." I say as I lean into him to kiss him and he kisses back hard. I reach up and put my arms around his neck and moan into him as he groans and pulls back and puts his forehead on mine
