"So Donna, since this is going to be a long ride, let's talk about the story you were about to tell us back home..." Veronica spoke to Donna who was sitting at the front passengers seat. " Well, Veronica.. it's more of an old story, but what Grayson told me matched everything, except it was the other way around.." Donna spoke as she turned to face Veronica and Rachel, who were paying close attention in the backseat.
"My visions are never wrong.." Rachel responded with a low voice, but Donna's response took her by surprise. "Well, Hades tends to mess with your mind, just like he messed with the whole being cursed by the Gods, it's all a lie." Donna spoke and turned to look at Veronica. "We still don't know if it's you or even true, at this point, I'll take my chances." She took a pause, Veronica was processing everything Donna had said, but still felt like she had no answers.
"Donna, please, I need clear answers.." Veronica spoke with a tired voice, she wanted to be with Jason, she needed answers as quickly as possible, she needed to go back.
"Twenty five years ago, Zeus fell in love with a human or so they said, turned out, Hades also fell for her, he was jealous, finding out she had given birth to Zeus's child, he tried to kill her and consume her powers, the mother tried protecting the child, but Hades killed her, he was already filled with hatred.." Donna took a pause before continuing, but was interrupted by Veronica. "That's definitely not me then, I dream about people's death, so.." Veronica responded with a hint of disappointment in her voice.
Donna glanced at Kory who looked like she was about to say something herself, paying attention to the road but ears in their conversation. "Veronica, the place I'm taking you, it might have something to do with you.." Kory spoke, glancing at Veronica through the mirror. "I know this because when my vision happened, you were in it.." She finished, giving a quick look at Donna so she could continue with her story.
"The thing is, they had to fake the girl's death, in order to protect her from Hades or even try to for as long as they could, so they sealed her powers, but nine years later, hades found her and tried to kill her, but Zeus intervened, unleashing a war between the Gods, the little girl's memories erased and given back to her human family, never to be seen or heard of again.." Donna finished, taking a deep breath from her long story telling.
"But what about my dreams? What does that have to do with anything, if I'm even the girl in the tales you've told.." Veronica asked, curious to hear an answer, she held her head up and turned to look at Rachel. "Maybe he cursed you to think you were powerless, that's what he does, he's taking all of your hidden traumas and playing with your head.." Donna responded. Veronica let out a sigh, still not believing anything.
"Just like my father did..." Rachel spoke, a sudden silence came upon the four of them. "Anyways, we can't tell the others, specially Jason, not until we figure this out ourselves." Veronica spoke trying to get rid of the awkward silence that filled the car.
|Present Time|
As Grayson drove on the highway, Jason couldn't get his mind off Veronica and what she was up to, he had felt like reconnecting with her, but every time he did something happens and she vanishes. At first he thought it was because of everything that happened, for him lying and not looking for her the moment he was brought to life, but now he knew it had nothing to do with him, it was her mind, being pulled all over the place, by something he couldn't even imagine himself.
"Quick question guys, how are we going to find them? They got rid of the trackers.."Gar interrupted Jason's thoughts and Jason replied. "I don't know, ask around, maybe Dick over here has a plan already.." Jason replied rolling his eyes at Grayson. "Jeeze, so tense.."Gar responded with a sarcastic smile and turned his face towards the window.
After long hours and maybe two days of staying in motels and questioning everyone they could, they found nothing. Jason was now feeling desperate, calling Veronica in hopes she'd pick up. "
"Damn it!!"Jason yelled at his phone, hearing Veronica's phone take him directly to voice mail. "Kory's not answering either.." Grayson said as he hung up the phone, he was also feeling the frustration Jason was feeling, it had been days and they still couldn't find them, the only luck they had was the employee of the previous motel, telling them they've seen them stop by the day before and that was it.
They were parked at a gas station now, taking a break from all the driving. "Guys.." Gar spoke, but neither of them heard him. "GUYS! Look!" Gar shouted at them finally getting their attention. "What the hell is that?" Jason spoke, looking at the bright light coming from the sky miles away from them, not far from the girl's location. The sky was turning gray as the white light perished slowly turning the sky above the mountains with darkness and suddenly a black cloud unleashed upon it.
"What the hell is happening? Are you guys even seeing this?" Gar spoke still not believing what he was seeing, in that moment a phone started ringing, it was Grayson's, he looked at Jason and Gar before answering.
"Kory!Where the hell have you guys been!?" Grayson yelled over the phone but quickly managed his rage, trying to calm down a scared Kory on the other line.
"Slow down, what happened?"
"Yes we see it, shit, okay, just calm down, we'll be there in a few!" Grayson finished his call and by then Jason and Gar were right behind him, with worried faces, trying to figure out what was happening. "That thing over there, it's Veronica, we got to go, now!" He spoke, Jason didn't hesitate and took the car key's from Grayson. "I'm driving, you drive like an old men!" He finished, Grayson didn't even question it and got in the car, with Gar already in the backseat.
