The Titan's tower was crowded, to say Jason felt weird and unwelcomed was an understatement, last time he saw them, he almost killed them, well technically he did kill one of them so you can imagine how difficult it was for him to not walk out that door and leave the tower at once, but even this time he had no choice.

"So here we are? Veronica is safe and sound, because of me of course, since you practically sent her to die." Jason pointed out to Grayson who was rolling his eyes towards his hostile behavior, during the whole situation, Rachel was slowly approaching Veronica, as if she had some secret to tell. "Hey, can we talk, like in private?" Rachel whispered to Veronica as she approached her quietly, Veronica nodded at her question and followed.

As they entered Rachel's room, Veronica could feel something was wrong."It's everything okay?Rachel?" She asked, but Rachel looked at her and placed both of her hands in Veronicas head, invading her privacy and her darkest memories."oh my God! Veronica I'm sorry.." Rachel cried letting go of her friend.

"What the hell Rachel!?" Veronica said loudly as she rubbed the top of her head, what Rachel did made her get an intense headache, due to the sudden mind invasion. "I'm sorry Veronica, I just needed to see first for myself." Rachel explained. " See what? There's nothing else there that you  don't know.." Veronica pointed out, she didn't mind if Rachel had asked first, she knew there was something else, because Rachel wouldn't have acted that way in the first place.

By then Jason was already knocking on Rachel's door asking for them to head down to the living room so they could talk about what they actually went there for. "We'll be there in a minute." Veronica shouted and turned to face Rachel who's expression turned to terror. "What's wrong Rachel?!" She asked once again, getting Rachel's full attention now.

Meanwhile Grayson, Kory and Gar were still waiting for the rest of the group to join them. "Rachel's been acting weird, don't you think?" Gar said breaking the silence between them. He wasn't wrong, the night Veronica left for Gotham, she had a dream involving her. She didn't give much detail to them, only that she needed to talk to her.

"Veronica, you're much stronger than you think.." Rachel finally spoke, Veronica took it as a joke and let out a laugh." You're joking right? Is it because I left without saying anything?" She said, but her smile faded as soon as she realized Rachel meant it. "Shit, you actually mean that, don't you? Did you, perhaps see who killed my parents?" Veronica asked curious as to what Rachel saw earlier.

Rachel said nothing at first and wondered in her thoughts, thinking of ways she could explain the truth to Veronica. "I don't know how to explain, but it seems like your memories have been replaced, did you know you escaped death when you were nine years old?" Rachel said, everything sounded foreign to Veronica, she didn't know if she was being serious or not. " Rachel I can't give you answers to things I don't even know myself! All of this is news to me.." Veronica lost it at that point, she was getting questions instead of answers and she had cero answers herself.

Meanwhile Jason was standing at the door, ears on their conversation, he could only hear the last part until Gar interrupted him. " Jason Todd, spying on girl conversations, creepy.." Gar joked making Jason roll his eyes in annoyance. "Hey, I'm not spying, I just came here to get them, maybe you'll have luck." Jason responded tapping on Gar's shoulder and left the scene. Gar was about to knock on the door, but stopped as he heard Rachel speak.

"What I'm about to tell you might sound like a shock, but I saw you, you were supposed to die when you were nine, but you somehow escaped death." Rachel spoke, Veronica was shocked, she knew Rachel meant what she was saying, but her mind only wondered why she didn't even remember anything.

"That made the God's mad, before they cursed you to die at your nineteenth birthday, one of them protected you without the other's knowledge, he gifted you with great power, so technically you're like a goddess, at least, that's what it showed me." Rachel finished, by now Veronica was processing what her friend had said, all of that made her head spin, getting blurry flashbacks of a few tall figures, she took a seat on Rachel's bed and turned to speak. "then how come, I don't feel that power or strength?" Veronica questioned hoping Rachel had an answer. "Well, to be honest, that's what I could see, I somehow uncovered your lost memories.." she spoke, giving her final words.

Gar was at the door, in shock and also feeling guilty for spying on their conversation, he even felt like a jerk for insulting Jason back then. "Holy, shit..." Gar whispered, but as soon as he was about to leave, the door to Rachel's room had opened. "Seriously Gar?" Rachel spoke, while Gar smiled apologetically rubbing the back of his head. "Come on.." Rachel took Gar's hand and left towards the living room.

Veronica followed behind, trying to figure out why her memories were replaced, how she could get a hold of her sudden new powers, she didn't even felt like a goddess at all. She found it hard to believe, but she also felt that her entire childhood was strange and her memories of her childhood were almost a blur to her.

"Veronica, are you okay?" Jason asked as Veronica sat beside him, snapping out of her thoughts and with a smile nodded at Jason, but even he knew something was up. "Okay, now that everyone is finally gathered here, we need to talk about the situation with Veronica and also what's happening in Gotham." Greyson spoke with a serious expression, looking at every one of them.

Kory felt tension and decided to break the ice. "First, let's talk about Veronica's situation." She spoke tapping Grayson's shoulder to continue. "Rachel, anything you want to add?" He said as he looked at Rachel who only turned to face Veronica for reassurance. "There's no need to keep it a secret.." Veronica responded, letting Rachel know she would explain it herself.

"So apparently, I was supposed to die when I was nine, the God's hated that idea, of course, so they cursed me to die the day my parents died.." she took a pause, to see everyone in the room paying full attention to her, even Jason was without words. "Anyway, before they could curse me, one God took mayor pity on me and apparently blessed me with powers, all without their knowledge." She finished, Gar was shocked, once again hearing that was unbelievable to him.

Grayson, Kory and even Jason looked at each other, not knowing how to take in all this information. "But then, who killed your parents?" Grayson asked and before Veronica could speak Rachel rose from her seat, getting everyone's attention now. "That's still a mystery, it's the only person I can't make up it's face when I invaded Veronica's mind." Rachel spoke, making Jason furious.

"You invaded her mind? Without fucking asking?" He shouted, Rachel didn't even flinch, instead continued to speak. "It's all a blur, all I could see with clarity was the whole God story and death thing, but when it came to that situation, it's all inconclusive.." She finished, by now, the whole Gotham conversation had to wait till morning, it was late and all this new information needed to be left for the next day.

"Okay, everyone get some rest, we got a big day ahead of us tomorrow." Grayson spoke, as Kory, Rachel and Gar left the living room. "Dick, there's one more thing.." Veronica spoke, getting Grayson's full attention while Jason stared curiously at them both. "What is it?" He asked turning to face her.

" I saw him, the man that killed my parents, I don't know why, but I think it also has something to do with whatever is happening in Gotham." Veronica explained, what happened at the docks back in Gotham, he only said "That's new, I'll look in to it." He clearly had something else bothering him now.

But with that, Grayson left the room and Veronica was left alone with Jason. "You should rest.." He spoke to Veronica, who's eyes were filled with dark circles from not resting the past few days. "Yeah, that sounds good, now let's go to my room before Dick realizes you're still here..." She said, grabbing Jason's wrist and guide him to her room. "So you're a goddess now?" He asked but Veronica rolled her eyes at him, not wanting to speak about it anymore for the day, as it was too much for her to handle.

To be continued...

NOTE:

1,486 words, as you all can see I took my sweet time with this chapter, the longest I've ever written and my imagination went wild on this one 😂, also decided to change the writing style and interpreted the conversation in the same paragraph, instead of all that space. I feel like this story can go somewhere, my question is where, only time will tell. I hope anyone that is reading liked this chapter and will update soon. But before, I'll be fixing some of my previous chapters.
