His Smile

We've been in Judd's van for about 7 minutes now. I haven't said a single word to him, but he hasn't either. He was respecting my silence as he wrapped my knuckles in bandages. I haven't even looked at him, I've been looking at my lap this entire time. "I'm really sorry..." He said softly.

"What Leah did, it wasn't right... I already know what you're going to say so you don't have to respond..." He finished wrapping my hands and let go of them. "Judd it's not your fault so don't apologize for her actions." He said in a soft voice taking the words out of my mouth. I looked up at him a bit; before looking back down, twiddling my thumbs.

"It doesn't change the fact that I feel bad... It doesn't change the fact that I agreed to the prank... It doesn't change the fact you won't talk to me..." He said looking away, turning his body towards the dash. I looked at him for a moment and he was holding the steering wheel as he stared at it. "It doesn't change the fact I could've possibly lost the person I care about most..." He said as his voice broke.

I could hear his grip tighten as he looked down, taking in a sharp breath. "Nothing changes the fact that I fucked up too..." He said softly, biting his lip. "And I really am sorry..." I looked back down, messing with the bandages. "It's okay..." I said softly, turning my body away from him. "No it isn't. Quite saying that it is, I know I hurt you. That isn't okay (Y/N)." I could now feel his gaze on me.

"You can say that what I did wasn't okay and I'll be fine with it..." I could hear his hands fall to his lap. "Fine... What you did was really fucked up... I don't know if I can even look at you after that. I feel like I don't even know you anymore...." I bit my lip, holding back tears. "I beat the fuck out of your sister and her friends out of my bottled up emotions as I had no one to talk to anymore...." I couldn't hold back anymore, the flood gates opened as if they didn't the dam was going to burst.

"You're the only person I have in this world... And if I lost you I don't know what I'd do... I care about you a lot...." I softly wiped my tears away with the sleeve of my hoodie as I sniffled. "And it's pretty obvious that I love you too..." I laughed softly as I played with my hoodie sleeve. We were both silent for a moment. "I'm fine with being just friends if you don't feel the same way, but please.... Don't play with my heart like that again..."

I could feel his gaze leave me as I continued to talk. "I don't want to lose you just because we don't work out as a couple... So I'm fine with just staying friends..." I waited for him to answer, but I didn't hear anything. I looked over at him and he was looking out the windshield. I looked out the windshield as well as he started the van. We both put on our belts before he drove off. I had no idea where we were going but I didn't want to push him to answer me.

I looked back down at my hands as they hurt, parts of my face hurt as well. I would look at him every now and then until we stopped. We were at his hide out and he still hadn't said a word. He put his van in park and got out. I looked over at him as he shut the door. He started to talk to himself and I sighed, maybe he needed time alone. I unbuckled got out of the van. As I slammed the door I heard footsteps come around the corner.

"Hey, where are you going?" Judd asked softly as he looked at me. I looked at the ground and shrugged. "Home I guess... It seems like you need some time to think..." I said as I started to walk away. I put my hands in my pocket. "Fuck... That hurts..." I said to myself softly.

Judd POV

I jumped in place trying to think of what to say. Fuck I couldn't let (P/N) leave. I looked around thinking of what to do. Shit, I can't let (P/N) walk home. "(Y/N), wait." I reached out for (P/N) as (P/N) was only a few feet in front of me.

(Y/N) POV

I didn't have the energy for any of this. "What?" I said softly as I stopped, looking at him. He softly grabbed my wrist and slowly lead the way. I followed as I didn't want to pull away, I hurt enough already. There was silence between us as we didn't have much to say, but it was a calm silence.

He eventually stopped and slowly pulled me forward so I could get a look at the view. Right in front of us was a lake and a beautiful sunset. The sunset reflected off the water perfectly; as the water was calm. I took it all in as it was going to be the last thing I see.

I felt a soft touch on my face and a gentle pressure, making me look to the side. "Now... Let me see..." Judd said softly as our eyes met. He seemed to his in pain for me. Did it really look that bad? I tried to look away, but he kept me there. "No... I'm not judging... Just let me help..." He smiled softly as I complied.

Judd's POV
I pulled a mini first aid kit out of my pocket and started cleaning the cuts on (Y/N) face. (P/N) had a busted lip and a cut on (P/N) cheek. (Y/N) also seemed to have a black eye and a bruise on (P/N) jaw. But (P/N) wasn't as fucked up as Leah and the other girls.

(Y/N) winced in pain as I cleaned (P/N) cuts, but it had to be done. Once I finished I put a butterfly band-aid on (P/N) face to keep the cut on (P/N) cheek closed. I looked (Y/N) in the eyes to let (P/N) know I was done. (P/N) looked away, enjoying the sunset.

(Y/N) POV
I stood there looking at all the marvelous colors in the sky. I sighed softly as looked at the lake, my gaze slowly trailing to my hands. "Thanks..." I paused for a moment. "Thanks for cleaning me up... I would've gone to bed without doing that..." I laughed softly. "It's no problem." He said softly in a tone I've never heard before.

I looked at him and he was smiling at me. I felt my face go red as my heart skipped a beat. I wasn't ready for that. I had never seen his smile before. I quickly looked away, gazing at my hands again. "(Y/N)." He said softly as he placed his hand on my cheek, causing me to look at him. "Y-yeah?..." I stuttered, still blushing.

He looked me in the eyes then at my lips. My eyes widened as my face became even more red. He closed the gap between us and I of course was in utter shock. I slowly relaxed and kissed him back, wrapping my arms around his neck. He placed his hands on my waist and pulled me closer.

We eventually broke apart and looked each other in the eyes. "How could I be so stupid, when the thing that I needed was right in front of me the whole time..." He said softly, placing his forehead on mine. I was completely speechless and thought this was all a dream. Maybe Leah and her friends knocked me out and I'm on my way to the hospital right now; and just dreaming about this.

"Did I break you?" He teased. "I uh..." Was all I could say as a reply.
