The following morning saw Lena groggily wandering into school. She had spent much to long reading, and re-reading the report, dispite she had most of it memmorised, followedby endlessly staring at her computer screen all in search of the elusive meaning, however she could find nothing but tips for caring for them. And while that was usefull, seming as she now owned one, it just wasn't what she wanted to know.

Spotting the person responsable, Lena stormed up to Kara, completely ignoring both Alex and Winn "Kara!" Giving her only enough pause to turn around and face Lena "What the hell does it mean?"

What's what mean?" Ither Kara was a bloody brilliant actress or she was crazy forgetful.

"You know what! You're the one who left it on my doorstep!" At this point every word Lena spoke was coming out in a low rumbbling growl. Although she was focused on Kara,  from the corber of her sight she could spot Alex and Winn giving eachother a look of mixed bewilderment curiosity, and intriguement.

"Lena" her eyes merely flicked over to Winn for half a second with an icy glare causing him to look away forgetting his question before focusing back on Kara as though she could will the answer out of her.

Kara's face crinkled up in thought, and before she could answer the bell rang for class, saving Lena from answering the questioning look from Alex, but also allowing her target to escape to the safety of there seperate classes.

It wasn't until the begining of lunch that Lena was finally able to snag Kara away. While the plant was still prominent in her mind.

Shoving Kara into the closest empty classroom Lena could find, she repeated her question from earilier that morning.

A warm smile situated itself on Kara's face. "You mentioned that you didn't want to see the flowers wither and die. While they cant last forever, a plant will atleast keep giving them to you; provided you look after it ofcourse."

Lena was touched. Instead of just leaving her with wilted petals, not that they were going anywhere, Kara went and got her a plant. As much as that warm fuzzy feeling slowly crawled outwards to surround her,  "That still dosen't answer my question, every other thing you have given me  has had a meaning but for the life of me I can't seem to find what a whole rose bush means."

Lena could see Kara slowly come to the realisation of what she ment; however the amused grin that quickly turned into an amused chuckle was not the responce Lena was expecting.

"That's because it dosent mean anything. You don't give people rose bushes, not really. It was just a gift." At this point Kara's laughter had faded, but the grin remained, and Lena was left feeling quite foolish. Giving Kara a small punch to the arm, one that only sucedded in renuing her mirth, muttering an 'I hate you' under her breath and exiting the room Kara and her laughter following along behind her.

After school that day Lena ran into James, while she was no longer activly avoiding him, there was still a tence air when they were in close proximity.

"Hey" Lena could hear the nevousness in his voice. James was never nervous though, he always had this calm and collected thing about him. Lena didn't say a thing, just rose an eyebrow. James scratched the back of his neck eyes darting around before finally resting back on Lena. "I'm sorry about the whole breakup thing" a small sigh escaped him, "It just...I was just angry I guess" it came out as more of a question and to Lena it sounded if he didn't even know. "And confused?"

"What's your point?" Lena really didn't want to be there, she had other things to do, like staring at a wall.

"I mean, I didn't want to break up with you. And I totally get it now." Get it? Get what? "You only went to find out who it was. Its not like you really felt anything for them, right? You didn't even know them then."

Of course Lena felt something for Kara, what she isnt exactly sure of yet. Standing infront of her was her ex-boyfreind trying to tell her that it was curiosity that drove her to the restaraunt that night. And yes Lena will admit that that was a large factor, but it wasn't the only one.

"I didn't just go there to find out who they were, I wanted to know them. Still do."

"What?" He looked so confounded, as though Lena was suddenly speaking another language "I don't get it. Dosent matter. I was wrong to dump you. Can we, you know, get back together?"

"Nope I don't want to" she meandered off James quickly slipping from her mind. His next words making her stop mid step.

"So thats it? Your not gonna take me back because of a flower loving pansy? You gonna start dating them now?"

Anger swelled up inside Lena. Where's he get off insulting Kara like that? It may have slightly slipped her mind that James didn't know it was their freind. She whirled around to him anger flashing through her eyes. At the moment James saw a bit of what almost every other student and teacher of the school regularly saw in Lena. Power. Now he knew why Nia and Winn were always so afraid of her when she wasn't in a good mood.

"That so called flower loving pansy made me feel more cherished and loved through those noted then you ever did, I sure as hell arn't going to stand here and listen to you drag them through the mud," she was right in his face by the end of her triade. Shoving him back a step, she turns and storms out of the school.

Although at the time she had ignored his comment, wrapped up in her anger, dating Kara had never really crossed her mind, or it hadn't once she found out it was Kara. Yes, she had become facinated with her; yes, she wanted to figure out what made her tick. But dating her? The idea didn't make her cringe, instead she found herself quite open and rather welcoming to the sentiment.
