Saturday morning Lena was out of the house by nine, scrounging all over town for the perfect dozen of red roses. A task that proved much harder then Lena ever thought. For one it dosen't seem florests sell them quite all year round, atleast not in decent quantities Two; too many idiots were trying to convince her that red, Burgundy, and Coral were all infact the same. Something she knew all to well wasnt the case. It's not like she could go through with this half-assed, Kara had undoubtably spent a rediculous ammount of time into preparing them for Lena, even if she never expected anything to come from it, she couldn't aford to mess this up.

Finally locating Twelve almost evenly colored roses from four diferent florests, Lena headed to the Danvers household. Butterflys ceaselessly fluttering through ther stomach. Before she knew it, Kara was standing infront of her, one eyebrow raised in question.

"Here" Lena sticking the flowers right infront of Kara's face causing her to shuffle back ever so slightly. Taking hold of them Kara absolutely beamed at Lena. Before she could say anything though Lena rambled onwards. "So, I know red is 'I love you," complete with air quotes "but I'm not sure that I am quite there. Atleast not yet. But courage and respect are also red. Thats something I do have in abundance to you. Perhaps not at first, but now... Now I can't help but be drawn to you. I want to know how you tick, why you like me."

"To delve into each and every part of you. To find where you pulled the courage to tell me how you feel. Because before then it never occured to me that anyone could feel that was about someone. Let alone me. I mean that the type of thing you find in one of those god-forsaken romance movies."

"But whenever I read each note, each and every single one fills me with a warm fuzzy feeling, before then I though it was somthing people had made up, and I cant help but think of you for the rest of the day; wondering what went through your mind;" Finally Lena gave herself time to breath, only to realise ahe had no idea what she just said. All she knows is that as soon as her mouth opened words poured out. The even brighter glowing smile on Kara's face told her she probably said the right thing.

"Lena..."

"Shush I wasn't finnished. I don't know where any of this will take us but will you go out with me?

Kara's face had begun to resemble a supernova. Once the entirely needless question was asked, Lena soon following suit. She didn't need Kara to vocalise her answer, as it was clearly written on her face, but the words out of her mouth was still like music to her ears.

"Yes"
