BANG.

"What the hell?!"

BANG.

"What is that?!"

"Go! Out the back! Flee for the tall grass!"

"Go, Dae! Do as Pa says!"

BANG.

Daeva jolted into an upright position so fast, a wave of dizziness followed, causing her to fall back on the bed. At first, she hadn't a clue where she was. This wasn't her room. But then after a moment, the events of the night before came back to her, and she gave a nervous sigh. She was in the cottage of the Safefinders, after they'd rescued her from her cell down in the dungeons. She pushed away the wavy cloth that surrounded the bed, noticing something. At the foot of the bed was a little bed stand, with an outfit already layed out for her. She stood and went over to investigate. Atop the clothing was a single rose and a note written in surprisingly neat cursive. A smile formed on her lips absentmindedly as she read the note.
I set this out for you myself. I know it's not ideal, but I hope it's to your liking. I'll explain the meaning behind it when you awaken. -Karl

Daeva set the rose and the note aside, inspecting the clothing. It wasn't a dress like she'd been expecting. Instead it was a black outfit similar to the ones the Safefinders were wearing the night before. It was studded with silver buttons and resembled soldier armour, only without all the metal plates. She wasn't sure about it, but figured she should put it on and ask questions later. So that's what she did. She slipped out of her night gown and into the strange outfit. It surprisingly fit well, although it was a rather difficult task to zip up the back of it on her own. Still, she managed, and finally finished dressing. She then went and made the bed, and layed the gown neatly over the blankets, before walking to the door. She caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Her build and long hair made the outfit look slightly questionable, which only made Daeva wonder more why she was to wear this instead of a dress.

With that question in mind, she opened the door and nervously began to walk out into the hallway. She emerged at last into the living area, to find it empty. The kitchen and dining room was empty too. Daeva was rather confused, realizing then that the cottage had only the one sleeping room; hers. Where had the Safefinders gone?
She hesitantly opened the front door of the cottage, and was nearly blinded by the bright sun that poured over the entrance. She shielded her eyes until they were used to the light, just as a set of footsteps approached. She blinked, making the figure out to be Karl.

"You've awaken, good good," he said as he came to her. "You were asleep a while, Dae. I trust you rested well?" Daeva considered his words, remembering the reoccurring dream she had woken up from. Then she nodded, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "You found the outfit I prepared for you," Karl observed. "Apologies, I'm sure it's not what you're used to. Come, we will talk over breakfast."
He offered his arm to her, and she linked hers with him as he lead her through the small town of cottages. It surprised her how someone most would see as an outsider was such a gentleman, but it was comforting nonetheless knowing her saviors were decent young lads.

Karl lead her to a part of the town behind the cottages, where a large cloth tent was pitched over a multitude of tables, with people sitting at all of them. Karl lead her to a table where the other three Safefinders were seated, and he settled in beside her.
"Good morning, Dae!" Chandler greeted. His gaze still carried a look of awe when he looked at her. She felt a wave of shyness come over her as she simply waved back, earning a chuckle from Jim to the left of Chandler.
