From this angle, you forgot how intrancing his eyes were, how gentle yet stern his aura was, how safe you felt around it all. Bits of hair came loose, dangling while silence shared, quiet, breathless laughs given quickly. One hand got free from his, moving to fix his hair and cup his face.

"Why did you leave, Y/n?" his tone, while soft, held a large weight.

"I had to, Obi-Wan," your hand faltered its hold on his face. "It was for the best... for everyone's sake,"

"What about me?" while he intended no harm with these words, a fire of guilt and anger ignited.

"You?" your change in tone was immediately caught by him.

"Yes, me," Obi-Wan let you get out from under him, your figure storming to grab your lightsaber while he grabbed his own, "you left me. You promised you'd meet me at the fountains but you left,"

"It's always about you, isn't it? The great Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi thinking the world revolves around him!" your hands raise in the air as you spin to face him again, "have you any idea what leaving did to me?? I had no one. I was alone for years until I made Klatar my home. What about you?"

"You left. You knew what you were doing! I chose to stay and serve the order as I should," he glares back with his jaw tightening.

"You could stay! You had Master Qui-Gon, you had a set future, you were the promising student Yoda and Windu talked about so often!" Tears started to form, streams ready to let loose, "I had no one. Master Watson was dead, I was hardly ever acknowledged by the council, I had not a single friend-"

"You had me."

"Did I?" anger rose up rapidly, "where were you when I needed you most, Obi-Wan??" clicking your tongue scornfully, you leave the room with Obi-Wan pursuing you.

"I was where I always was, Y/n, by your side," he grabbed your upper arm, "don't act like I never was."

"You were physically there, but you never really there- you never helped me," elbowing him away, he was left confused at your words, "you always dismissed my feelings. You only ever cared about this order and yourself."

His stomach dropped, seeing the hurt in your eyes, "Is that really what you think?"

"It's what I know," you were thankful not another soul wandered down these halls during the fervent argument. "I'm going to check on Kalesto,"

"Y/n, wait-" but it was no surprise to him you ignored his final words.

Even through dinner, both Padme and Kalesto could tell of your drifting mind. While they tried to engage you in conversation, maybe even opening up about what was bothering you, it was no success. From night to early morning, Kalesto was busied with politics and under the watch of Padme and her personal security.

"Hey, Master Y/n," Ahsoka seemed to always be adamant on greeting you first when you arrive at the temple.

"Never late, are you?" You walk with her through the halls.

"Nope, but I do want to ask you about a few things," she looks for your nod to continue, "Kal and Padme are worried about you,"

"I'm just trying to adjust to temple life once more, trust me," you knew she was unsure of your answer but other things had suddenly taken your attention.

"Y/n?" A familiar voice calls from down the hall, standing between two other figures.

"Vos?" You do a double take at the now grown man. Leaving Ahsoka's side, you run up to the Jedi, engulfing him in a hug as he lifts you in the air.

"I can't believe it!" He looks up at you before placing you back down, "look at you! You're back!"

"I am and I missed you," hugging him again, Anakin and Ahsoka were the first to meet eyes, knowingly glancing to Obi-Wan who's face spoke louder than words.

"I missed you too... wow, you look gorgeous," he spun you under his arm making you laugh out loud. "Wow... I mean, I can't believe it..."

"I'm only back for a while, to act as a bodyguard for Duchess Kalesto," you explain, "still trouble, are you?"

"No less than you," he says proudly, "so where's the duchess, hm?"

"Well, she's with Senator Amidala, I'm meant to be supervising the younglings for the day, Master Yoda insisted," you look to him when he holds an arm out. "Nothing better to do? There's a war going on, you know?"

"Nothing beats spending the day with you," he insists, leading the way and making direct eye contact with Obi-Wan while you ramble on.

"You alright, Master Kenobi?" Ahsoka looks knowingly to the man who clears his throat.

"I'm fine, quite fine," he then catches Anakin's look as well, "no."

"I didn't say anything!" He holds his hands up in surrender.

"You were thinking it," he warns, "I am not jealous," walking off, his face mimicked that of an upset puppy.

"He's so jealous," Anakin and Ahsoka say in unison.
