When she arrived, she was only five minutes late to when it opened. There was a short line and was inside before traffic got bad. When she got to the club, she immediately went looking for her sister's killer. She kept noticing the weird  looks that people were giving her, and also realizing that people were slowly moving away from her. She the looked down and realized that she still had her pistol in her hand. She quickly put it in her bag, no one could no she was a undercover cop .

Soon she heard yelling and glasses being shattered.  She ran over to see an older man fighting a younger girl.  Maxine broke up the fight and watched as the man ran out of the club, not wanting anyone to come back for him. Maxine quickly looked at the girl who he had been fighting with. The lower half of her face was covered with blood and she was unconscious. Maxine picked the poor girl up and she took her to the bathroom.

She set the girl on the sink as she slowly woke up. Maxine grabbed her her handkerchief and gently placed little dabs all over the girls face. She called 911 and gave the description of the man to the police.  The girl thanked Maxine before she left.

The next morning when she came to the station, she saw the girl from the night before, covered in bruises and stitches. The girl, who's name was Corey, had wanted to thank Maxine again and give the police a little more info on the man that had assaulted her the night before.

"I was just trying to party with my boyfriend until I accidentally bumped into some guys. I said sorry and we were both okay, but  the man thought that as I was flirting with him. I tried to tell him  I wasn't, but then he grabbed me and started hitting me. The reason I didn't fight back because he had a switchblade on him."

She thanked Corey for the information and sent her on her way. After she left, Maxine went to the mall for a break. She needed to take her mind off of everything that had happened. She went to Claire's, remembering that her neighbors birthday was in a week. She was looking at a pair of pink earrings when she saw a familiar face walk past the store.

It was Harry.

She dropped the earrings and ran after him, pushing herself to her limits. She hadn't ran this fast since high school. She chased Harry out into the parking lot, and before she could get him he started up his car and drove off, leaving Maxine alone and out of breathe
