I TOOK A DEEP BREATH!

the truce was a truce.

it was only temporary.

adam and i went right back to hating each other, even if it felt a little strange.

math class was awkward.

adam didn't say a word to me, he didn't even bother me for ten minutes straight over a pencil.

he just used a pen the entire class period.

and he had to use all of his white out.

of course he owns white out. why can't he just buy an eraser?

but, math class was so much better than p.e.

i hate p.e.

"alright, your warm ups are done!" the teacher called. "now, we're running the mile!"

the entire class groaned, except mateo.

he was always a try hard, and would sprint as fast as he could so he could be the first to complete the lap.

the entire class lined up.

as soon as the timer began, they all started sprinting.

adam and i laughed, as we walked.

"i'm gonna fail this class." i said to myself. "this is so embarrassing. we're the only people walking."

"so?" adam shrugged.

"oh. true." i shrugged.

we continued walking silently.

i tapped my fingers along the edge of my ugly white p.e. uniform.

"this uniform is so ugly." i complained.

"you don't have to wear it. you could break dress code like you do every other day." adam pointed out.

"maybe i should just dye it red."

"you're gonna look like a traffic cone."

"traffic cones are orange."

"you know what i mean. they're really bright. you're gonna attract all attention to you."

"like i always do."

"because you're really annoying."

"i was gonna say because i'm pretty. you just have to spread your negativity."

"i learned it from you."

"you wanna be me so bad."

"definitely not."

i rolled my eyes, rubbing my arms.

"are you shivering?" adam questioned.

"what does it look like?" i asked.
