the smeared edge of the scribbled words contrasted against the crumpled white sheet.

it was the first piece of blank-ish paper i had. it was shoved at the very bottom of my backpack.

as soon as my teacher finished explaining the assignment, i'd slung the backpack over my shoulder and left without a second glance.

when i stepped outside, adam was passing through the hall.

my grip tightened, the paper crumbling even further.

i unwrapped it out of the ball i'd forced it into.

the only thing i'd done for my english assignment, which was due the next day, was one of many quotes i needed to have in order to finish.

before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves.

i'm an expert on revenge!

the report should be easy enough. actually, that's what i could write it about! i'd just need to disguise it as revenge in literary themes.

how do you get the perfect revenge?

easy!

rule number one: be consistent.

like how i was consistent with the endless bullying towards adam.

he wouldn't be a reacted if i insulted him once. no, i needed to do even worse.

like, i need to kill him.

or throw away his weird little comic books.

except for the spider-man ones. peter parker is actually the love of my life.

he would never let me borrow them, though.

i don't wanna borrow them anyways.

he probably has rabies or something. i don't know.

an awkward cough, like the ones people use to get your attention, cleared me from my thoughts.

my head turned from side to side to search for whoever made the noise.

of course, it had to be adam.

"what?" i said, shoving the piece of white paper into my pocket, crumbling it further.

"you're standing in front of my locker. again." he said.

"no, i'm not." i insisted, with a blunt tone.

i had been standing next to my locker. i knew it was my locker. i think.

"yeah.. you are." he nodded awkwardly.
