Chapter 10

Sick Muichiro: Day Three

"Huh, is Genya gonna come today?" Muichiro asked himself as he laid in bed

It had been 3 hours past the normal time that Genya would usually visit Muichiro, and he was concerned

"Genya's always early, maybe he just forgot."

Muichiro waited another hour in the room Shinobu put him in, but Genya still didn't come

Muichiro whispered to himself, "He's probably really busy. Or he forgot about me."

"No, Muichiro! Genya wouldn't abandon you, he cares about you."

Muichiro waited for another 30 minutes, and no sight of Genya anywhere 

The Pillar walked over to the door, locked it, and sat on the bed, his head buried into his knees

"What am I thinking, he probably didn't care about me in the first place. And he probably was going to abandon me. Like he said he would."

(Hey guys! The upcoming text isn't canon, it's just a way to add on to this angsty chapter)

~Muichiro's Flashback~

"How is it my fault that Mother and Father died?!  I get your angry, Nii-San, but you can't go off and blame everyone!" Muichiro yelled

Yuchiro retorted, "Me?! Blaming everyone?! No, Muichiro! Your the one who doesn't care that they died! And now, look where we are! Two school aged boys surviving on their own."

Muichiro argued, "I cared! I cared a lot! A lot more than you ever did!"

Yuchiro stared at his twin in disbelief, "I should've abandoned you the minute Mother and Father died. You are of no use to this world any more."

~End of Flashback~

Muichiro teared up, and tears fell from his crystal, teal eyes

Then, he heard a knock on the door

Muichiro didn't even bother to dry his tear, and he answered the door

Shinobu was standing before him with a glass of water and his medicine

She noticed Muichiro's tear stained face and bloodshot eyes, and was immediately launched into concern

"Muichiro, what happened?! Are you okay?"

Muichiro motioned for Shinobu to come inside, and she sat down on his bed

The Insect Hashira looked at Muichiro, her face filled with anguish and concern

"Again, what happened? Are you alright?"

Muichiro's lip quivered, "G-Genya didn't come t-today. He was going to abandon me the second we b-became friends."

Shinobu frowned, "Muichiro, Genya cares for you a lot, and he didn't want to abandon you."

Muichiro replied, "How do you know that?"

Shinobu let out a small smile, "Do you want to know the real reason Genya wasn't here today?"

Muichiro sniffled, "W-what?"

Shinobu chuckled, "Well, no, he wasn't going to abandon you. The real reason he wasn't here was he trained with Himejima today. He sent you a letter by crow, explaining why. But, it never got to the Butterfly Mansion. Then, Genya showed up, and told me that before the crow could send the letter, Sanemi jumped out of no where and ripped it up. He couldn't write another one because he ran out of ink and parchment."

Muichiro gasped and turned a bit pink

"So, all this time, I was crying because I thought Genya abandoned me, but he had training?"

Shinobu nodded

Muichiro muttered,  "I feel really stupid right now."

Shinobu responded, "Don't worry, your okay. I'm sorry to say, but with pasts like yours, abandonment issues is the price to pay."

Muichiro nodded, and he took the materials Shinobu had, and gulped them down

He swallowed the water with a giant gulp, and bit his lip

"Alright, well, I have to go return to some duties. Let me know if you need anything, and if your not feeling good, mentally or physically, you can
tell me. Bye, Muichiro!" Said Shinobu

Muichiro waved goodbye, and Shinobu left

I'm so tired, I might as well go to sleep

Muichiro pulled up his covers, and drifted off to sleep
