The Great Pancake War

The simple task of making pancakes became a two-hour-long rowdy mess. Four boxes of pancake mix turned into only one edible pancake. The rest they made? Well...didn't survive long. Most of the others that were made fell onto the floor or furniture, or Micky threw them at Davy.

One of the boxes couldn't be used at all because there was a hole in the bag. Poor Peter had to discover this himself when he pulled it out of the box, looking for a way to open it. He held it above him and all the mix powder poured down, completely covering him. He squeaked, and Micky grabbed a towel to help him get it out of his eyes and face. So they were down to three boxes, and the kitchen floor and Peter were covered in the remains of the other box.

The second box was off to a much better start. They made it all the way to the batter stage before something went wrong. The batter was spraying everywhere as they mixed, but that wasn't the problem. After Davy poured some of the batter onto a pan and after he began cooking it, Micky crept up behind him. Peter noticed this, but Micky put a finger over his mouth to make sure he didn't say anything. He nodded and watched curiously as Micky got to work on his plan. As the pancake was cooking, Micky grabbed onto Davy's waist, lifted him into the air, and twirled him around. He shrieked, and the stunt caused the half-cooked pancake to fly. It landed on a cabinet and awkwardly flopped down onto the counter, leaving a trail of its uncooked batter. Davy punched Micky's arm, but both were giggling.

By the third box, it was no longer about making pancakes anymore. It was a food war, and it was about revenge. Davy quickly got his revenge and "accidentally" flung batter at Micky. It was the move that started the war. Soon they were just flinging batter, powder, and whatever else was there. Peter tried his hardest to stay neutral during the pancake war, but he was hit by several stray throws.

"Guys!" Peter called out, causing the battle to stop in motion. "We're on our last box of mix."

They hadn't made a single pancake from those three boxes. The two calmed down a little as Peter carefully opened the box. And with that fourth and final box, they were able to successfully make one pancake. Peter declared it to be off-limits for the younger two and that this one was for Mike.

The battle continued after the single pancake was made, Peter making no attempts to stop it. Micky came behind Davy and cracked an egg over his head. He yelped and once he cleared it out of his eyes, tackled Micky to the ground in a loose headlock. Both were laughing wildly. Peter grinned as he watched them, missing all of their crazy antics. He wiped his hands on his pants and suddenly froze when he looked up. He coughed, causing Davy and Micky to look up too.

"Good morning, Mike."
